      I think IAU have decided.

8 planets. Pluto is no longer a planet.

Easy zenje. What comes first, reality or your criterion? If your criterion was proved wrong in reality would you be strong enough to admit the criterion was wrong,or would you still believe despite the disrepency with facts? Would you say 'allah/quran knows best, and so the science/apparent reality is wrong'? handshake

            Peace be with you enquirer,

or would you still believe despite the disrepency with facts?
Facts?... confused Tell me enquirer, was it "fact" when it was 9 planets until early 2005? Was it "fact" when it was 10 planets later on in the same year? So 2006 we're back to 8... is that fact now. Does your reality change every year or so?.. going backwards? Well, not for me thanks.

Easy zenje. ok,so do you take the criterion over what you can see with your eyes, and understand with your mind?
Doesnt your reality change as you gain more age, knowledge and wisdom? Or do you still believe exactly the same things as when you were 17?

                Peace enquirer,

Easy zenje. ok,so do you take the criterion over what you can see with your eyes, and understand with your mind?
                Yes. sun

Doesnt your reality change as you gain more age, knowledge and wisdom?
Exactly my point, so don't call it "reality" and "fact" when it keeps changing, especially when it changes with what people "think" or "say" it is. handshake

Or do you still believe exactly the same things as when you were 17?
What I believe has definitely changed over the years (and still does), but guess what, the criterion hasn't. ;D

Zen, us scientists are fine with changing 'truths', as in science all knowledge is relative, it gets improved as we advance further. Also, because nothing is sacred in science, then there are no penalties in changing anything.

So... how do you define 'planet', Zenje? I'm curious, because you don't accept IAU's.

That is assuming one gains knowledge and wisdom. Understanding is important as well in my opinion.

                      Peace Andya,

Zen, us scientists are fine with changing 'truths', as in science all knowledge is relative, it gets improved as we advance further. Also, because nothing is sacred in science, then there are no penalties in changing anything.
That's all well and good. The only problem I have, is with others expecting me to believe it as 100% truth/fact. As I said, we can change what we believe to be truth anytime, but the truth does not change. So believing there were 9 planets for all those years, was false. It may have been a convenient belief at the time, but it didn't last too long did it? So when we found the 10th planet, oh, what an exciting time, and then what happened. Now they have changed the meaning of 'planet'. Are we still supposed to rejoice that we've finally found the truth now?

So... how do you define 'planet', Zenje? I'm curious, because you don't accept IAU's.
I don't have a definition, I never had one to begin with. I'm not the 'scientist' here, nor do I claim that I know it all. I only have what they tell me, to work with.

Again, what God tells me, takes precedence over any human. ;D

                      Peace
