Happiness as per God's promise
-
Peace TrueBlue,
if God has promised us perfect happiness, then why are we not happy? Why are there people in this world facing so many hardships?
Dig a little deeper. If it's the evidence you're looking for, then you shouldn't start with the premise. Example All rabbits have four legs. To find a rabbit, do you look for every animal with four legs?
Happiness and joy and true love/compassion are signs that one is in tune with God. Find these people and you'll find the "us" that you mentioned above.
Peace,

Easy true blue and all. Happiness can come from appropriate cause and effect creating the right conditions to make us humans feel 'satisfaction'. Happiness is somewhat subjective, and definately is not related to belief or even 'knowing' one god... when my children are happy i feel happy, nothing to do with beliefs...Many religious and/or monotheistic people are desperately stressed and unhappy...

Hello 'enquirer',
Many religious and/or monotheistic people are desperately stressed and unhappy...
Very true. And that is because they are desperately seeking and faking about something that they themselves do not know. They think that a written book came floating down on a magic carpet steered by Ali Baba and protected by forty thieves whom the Muslims have taken full custody and now they can't live their lives without it. When life is all good and dandy, the God becomes all-merciful but when life becomes shattered, children born deformed, innocent people getting massacred and families torn apart, properties destroyed, and when nature gets abused by earthquakes, tsunamis, thunderstorms, and when sufferings become unexpected, all becomes a TEST of patience by crying out loud to this all-merciful God to come save them from this agony and become merciful. The price of happiness is dearer-paid by the virtues of living a righteous life as dictated by the call of reality in which one lives and that is the way of life. Just pay the price you can afford. You either live it or you don't.

Absolutely, GOD's allies have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.
They are those who believe and lead a righteous life.
For them, joy and happiness in this world, as well as in the Hereafter. This is GOD's unchangeable law. Such is the greatest triumph.
Reading these verses, I am wondering, there are several people who believe (yes, true monotheism) and lead a righteous life but are not happy nor are their lives filled with pure joy. Is this is God's unchangeable law or do "happiness and joy" mean something completley different than the way we humans comprehend these two words?
i'm understanding that by "allies" it also means friends.
God chooses who's closest to Him. just by being a Monothiest doesnt mean your an Ally/friend to the Almighty.
also "happiness and joy" could very easily mean divine guidance.
"joy and happiness" in this dimension has diferent limits and charachteristics then "joy and happiness" in the hearafter.God knows best.
peace, ex

Happines and joy = Kingdom of Allah whereby Allah - thru implementation of His deen - will bless men forever.
It is not a kind personal happiness but social justice, eligality, prosperity, harmonius because life is managed by Allah's deen.

Peace be upon you,
Thank you everyone for responding to my message. I guess what I am trying to understand is that if God has promised us perfect happiness, then why are we not happy? Why are there people in this world facing so many hardships?
The biggest problem is that people are looking for "happiness" in objects/material world. Happinnesss is the proper management of your spirit(nafs). Its all about your RESPONSE to the situations in life. The same thing happens to two people and they noth respond differently, WHY? Because the spirit is by nature unconditioned, therefore can be conditioned in any way. Happiness comes from the ability to be at PEace in any circumstance. (May Peace be upon you).
Most people are "waiting to exhale", thinking that happiness comes with that new house, new spouse, big money, etc. But when they get it, they go "wooo hoooo", then very soon that "feeling" is gone and they are in search of the next goal that will make them "happy" again. Thats the illusion of this world. True happiness is within.

Happiness as per al Quran nothing refer to personal happines but a community happines by which men surrender to Allah's arrangement in managing their social, economical, political, govermental acts whreby no poverties, social gaps, injustice are found. The social is life something called as mizan (harmonius, justice, equality etc).
It would be happen if Allah send Apostle amongst us, again...

Peace be upon you LM,

I disagree. Where have you seen such a community? Even in the stories of this reading, the communities were againt the prophets and messengers, thier groups were always a small group. Most of us if not all of us will go through this life without every being part of such a community, so will we go through life unhappy?
Happiness is a state of mind dependent on how you respond to the trials of life. While it can be and should be a community thing, it starts individually, and the bottom line is that even if the whole world was wiped out and there was just YOU, you should be able to achieve "happiness".

peace,
I think people have a limited understanding of "happiness" and "joy"....
just becasue someone may not look happy to the outsier doenst mean he/she isnt happy..
everyone ahs ups and downs every human is just that human and ahs flaws and has trials and not everyone passes them smiling.....
happiness is not something constant.....liek continual smiling..
i tend to say from my own personal experience it is a contentment...
when you forget God that happiness or contentness may fade but the verse doesnt say they are happy at every single second of the day
what if someone was a true beleiver
and they got hurt physically do you not expect them to say owwwwww or cringe in pain...
is happinessa physical look or action or something inside that you can not possibly distingush who has it and who doesnt
isnt that why you can tell the hypocrite from the way they talk
not how they look
cuz you cant tell who is a beleiver from looks
or actionsbut from how they speak....
if you are content and yes beleiving in the next life and knowing it is two way different things
beleiving it is simple as saying yeah i beleive in it
knowing it means to me to try and be consciously aware of it as much as possible and thus leads to different choices and actions and feelings
greive...
when i was a so called muslim a sunni or shias depending on when you knew me
i greived graetly for my lost family memebers who died all close toghether..
but after trying to follow quran alone when my step dad died
you dont greive you know
everything is done for a reason and you dont just beleive in the next life you know inside it exists as if it isnt a "movie" or abstract idea but you know without doubt they are not truly forever gone and you know that this isnt the only lifetherefore grieving seems illogical
why grieve for someone who will be brought back toghether
why greive for someone who simply moved to another stage i havent got to yet
you know not just believe you know for sure
this isnt the end for them or me
so why greive?
it literally became impossible....
so i dont think it is a constant smiling but a contentment
and when you look into the sky and see the creations of God and you not just beleive that God made it but reall really know
there is a calm sense of joy
an overwhelming feeling that makes you feel joy sometimes to the point where ones eyes fill with tears
becasue the joy that someone somehting other than you other than this life somehting thought about us and amde all ths for us
the fact that they even made us blows your mind and gives you absolute joy and peace....inshaAllah when you beleive this doesnt esscarly change your thinking process but when you have no doubt the quran becomes your thinking process therefore you have no fears no grieving no sadness no doubt
it literally becomes the furqan
it literally floats around in your mind at all times and you can not doubt for you know its true
even if oyu beleive in one God if you think
other thoughts like
maybe there isnt a next life maybe the hell isnt literal etcyou begin to question and yu begin to lose the furqan thus doubt to me would equal the lack of joy and happiness

Peace be upon you,
It is very simple. Most people move from Pleasure to Pain, Pain to Pleasure. Happiness is a life that moves from pleasure to Peace, Peace to pleasure.
When you have it, ENJOY IT, when its lost or gone, be at peace. Thats happiness
