    What is destiny?
I find it hard to believe that everything that happens has already been planned out for us.
But everything has a cause and effect, is that destiny?

What are your thoughts on this?

I didn't plan it. I doubt it was planned by anyone. But does it have to be planned out? I don't know.

I said I find it hard to believe (which means I don't believe) that things are already planned. Because, as you pointed out, that would give us no choice.

              Peace guys,

we had that discussion so many times before ???

Well, i do not believe that we have no choice, but i can imagine that god knows in advance what our choices in life will be.

Now please don't tell me that then it's not a choice anymore, if not we never get out of this confused

              LK

                peace

well we do have free will like it says in the Qur'an.
maybe we don't plan to be born, we won't anwser for that on Judgment Day
but we will anwser for the things we do.
now just because God knows what we're gonna do in the future, does that mean tht He decided everything we're gonna do? because if so, how could we anwser for the things we do?
but if it is our call, if it is our decision, our free will(and i think it is), how could God know about it in advance?

i think he just knows, doesn't mean that He decided for us, but he did create our brains and the way they work. and our brains get affected by things we hear and see.
maybe we wouldn't do certain things if we never read the Qur'an, like pray or thank God. but now we know and we do it and that's our decision. we're not forced to pray, but we know what's going to happen if we don't.

i think that we are just presented with opportunities and we decide whether we'll do one thing or the other.

but that's what i think, if i'm wrong please let me know.

                  As salamu alaykum wr wb.
                  Respectfully.

I have thought about this issue for a while now and i can't get rid of this idea i think that al this already happened and we are just waiting the end, the final end.

I saw this movie once with same topic. Langoliers. See the movie and you'll understand me.

First off what is Time? Time is a space between point A and point B. We are the human beings living in Time and Space, therefore in Space-Time continuum. The Almighty God, The Most Powerful, lives His Own Etrenal Life outside this Time and therefore He alone can see the point A and point B and all that's in between, right?

                  So.

The God already sees what happens throughout this Time and that's why he knows that a person will be born inside this Space-Time continuum. The God sees that a person, let's call him George W. Bush, wil be born somewhere between point A and point B, The God sees that this person bush will be born at specific time, that he will avoid going to 'Nam, that he will waste lots of money in the beginning of his career, that he will run for the US president, that he will send soldiers to Iraq, that he will almost choke on a pretsle, that he will not be able to prounounce the word NUCLEAR correctly, that he will cut himself shaving and The God also sees the exact time, place and cause of his departure from this world.

I'm trying to say, that Bush is the one who decides that he will send US troops to Iraq, but THE GOD is THE ONE Who will allow these soldiers to arrive there alive, healthy and THE GOD also sees if these same soldiers will return home in the same state.

We, the obervers, can only WAIT and see what happens. Wait being the key word.

God doesn't want us to kill each other. God said Thou shall NOT kill. Right? We decide to kill and then The God informs us what will happen to us if we kill, if we don't kill, if we prevent a murder or help someone get killed.

                  As salamu alaykum.

                      Peace upon you,

Free-will and destiny are not contradictory, they can coexist and they do.

Suppose that a person A in a moment in time t0 is at a crossroad. A can turn to the right, to the left or go forward.

Now, using his free-will, he will choose his direction, he has 3 possible choices. This is the group of possibilities.

The group of possibilities is defined by many parameters, depend and independent of the person?s will, among them the laws of the environment, the abilities of the person and his desires.

Destiny would be the independent part of those parameters like gravity, or suppose there is a big hole in the middle of the road to the right, so it would reduce even more the number of possibilities for the person A.

Free-will acts on the dependent part of these parameters, It is dependent of the person?s will. Suppose now that the person A has a flying machine, thus A would simply fly over the hole to the right and continue if A wills. Even more, A has augmented of the number of his possibilities, now he can go upward if he wills, thus having 4 or more possibilities.

The god the creator created the laws of the creation, never changing, it is imposed on us and we ultimately have to comply to those laws willingly or unwillingly. He also endowed us with the ability to enlarge our group of possibilities and subjugate some of these laws to our will, enabling us to make inventions and civilizations.

The god the creator knows the group of possibilities of each person at any moment in time, and also knows what each possibility may lead to, but still the person have a free-will to choose among her possibilities.

                      ....

                          Peace.

I don't think that everything has been planned.
I mean, after The Exalted God Almighty created us, He alone knew how each human being will work, what will we say, how will we live and everything else, right?

But, all the choices were made by us, we decided to do this and that and because of those choices, we see effects. We planned something, we did it and saw the effect.

For example i'm planning to go have a second dinner now. I will go to the kitchen and make food, consume it and feel good, right?
But what if i decided to go to the hospital instead and have my stomach removed and my mouth sealed? Wouldn't i destroy the destiny? I mean, if it was planned for me to go to the kitchen and eat, how will this destiny exist, if i remove the most important elements in the destiny?
By removing my stomach and having my mouth sealed, how will destiny be fullfilled, if i won't be able to eat?

The Exalted God Almighty gave us something ver precious here free choice. We can decide what to do, we are not some machines, programmed to react because of the installed programme.

Of course, The Exalted God Most Powerful knows best.

                          Peace.
