which history do i trust?

peace amigos,
according to this site, i found articles debating some the history of the prophet is false, like he did not marrry 14 wives, no miraaj, they disagree on a lot of issues. of course, muslims believe, jesus was not crucified while, christians bring historical evidence that he did and so on...
what are the historical sources based on? is part of most histories inaccurate?
i think i have part of the answer... let's say 50 years from now, the 9/11 issue will be in history books( as it already is, i move forward 50 years because there will be very few survivors, who lived through the event. some people argue that the united states was partly behind it any one's opinion toward anevent while recording history books totally change th outcome of history?
did you know? i do not perform the sunni style of salat because i doubt the history of islam itself because most of the "islamic" historical info that has been recorded in the history books are directly sourced from ahadith! do you now understand, why....???
hopefully, i did my best to be clarified on this issue.
peace, rifat

As salamu alaykum.
Respectfully.Muhammad did not have 14 wives because that would be in contradiction of the Qur'an, where we are allowed only four wives and even that under certain circumstances. (War, poverty ...) sun
Allah Most Powerful tells us that Jesus was not crucified and we know he wasn't because we follow the Qur'an and non-muslims added plenty of their own stuff in their Scripture. Sadly, yes, i know. brickwall
That's why we can't follow hadith, because they are in contradiction of the Qur'an. That's why we must only follow the Qur'an. The one true message from Allah Most Merciful. sun sun
For example, i would also like to know what really happened in the Balcans in the time of Ottoman Empire but in Slovenia i keep hearing that Turks slaughtered people on the Balcans and converted many people into muslims. Of course i cannot believe this until i find the real evidence. muscle
If anyone has any information about Ottoman Empire, i'd appreciate it, if you can post it here. The knowledge is beautiful gift. angel
Thank you and good luck.
As salamu alaykum. jedi -
Peace Alen,
Their were many atrocities commited by the Ottoman Empire in the Balkans, but the Serbian Empire, and the Hapsburg Empire also commited just as many. The Balkans as a geographical area has been prone to invasion as it is in a very volatile part of the world.
Men from the Balkans made up the backbone of the Ottoman Janissary Corps. What is considered by Historians to be the first true army based on modern military precepts. Their training started in childhood from which they were by all means captured by the state as a form of tax. Most boys were drafted for elite military service, while others that showed higher intellect were taken to be advisors to the Sultan or to minister over territory. The main weapon of the Janissary was the gun, which is why the Ottoman Empire was referred to as the gun-powder state.
Thats just a lil trivia =P

And in light of what you have said, the hadith may be bad but it's surely more accurate than the hadith attributed to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John...

And how can you be sure?
That the 'arabic' Hadiths is 'more accurate' than Matthew, Mark, Luke OR John OR any other Hadith?
In Judaism (Tanakh and Bible), the command began with the word "SHEMA" which means LISTENS or PAY ATTENTION.
While in Quran the command began with "IQRO" which means "READ".Based on my personal opinion, I REALLY think that the Mark and Luke
(Matt and John is very bad and contains a lot of contradiction within itself)
is 'better' in quality and accurateness than 'the hadith shahihah' of the Sunni or the Shia. And only in Mark (122 we could find the 'two foremost law / commandment' which is.
- YHVH our God and YHVH is ONE (Echad), and u shall love YHVH your God with all your might, heart and soul
- You must love your neighbor (your fellow human beings) as you love yourself.
And in Mark (101 there's a statement from Jesus
"Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone."It seems that Jesus is a member of the "Allah Wahdahu" (God Alone) belief.
Salam / Peace

I hope you are not suggesting we follow the Hadith.
There is no such thing as "More Pregnant" or "Less Pregnant"... similarly, if something is wrong, it does not matter how wrong it is...
If Hadith shows the exalted prophet as a person praise worthy, and provides accounts of his life that may reflect his character as described in the Quran, but are still fabricated, would you still accept those accounts? Isn't that how people took "little steps" to add more and more conjuncture over the last 1000 years?
Perturbation leads to gross errors, especially if not kept in check! This has happened with Hadith and Sunnah... everyone added something from their imagination until the whole picture became distorted!
