Peace magi
And this whole men and women cant operate together without thinking of sex is plainly ridiculous i find it insulting, and old tribal thinking.
unfortunately i have to second savage here, even though i find it insulting too. But i actually stopped seing male doctors after some ugly experiences - except one "good" guy i know is trustworthy. But after these experiences, it's not that i think that all males will act this way, but well i prefer not to take the chance when i choose a doctor...
For massage (medical also) i only accept women as well.... can only hope that it'll not one day be a horny lesbian ) lol

Those nude movements you are talking about are never really going to be the norm. They are limited to a small bunch of people who think it's liberating or what not. There is a huge world out there with the majority of people thinking way differently than these 'nature lovers' and that's just the way it is.
but on the other hand they are living proof of our misconceptions when it comes to the human body and how it affects people.
People are people are people, sure. When the majority will start thinking like this (and not just when I'm in a nudist club )), is when I might think about lowering my defences, thank you very much. I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon.
im not arguing that everyone should walk around nude, personally i would not do so. Im saying that they are proof that we have serious misconceptions.
I'm sick and tired of people wanting everyone else to believe as they do. It's ironic, isn't it. One has to understand, the world will always be full of different people with different ways of thinking. No matter what grand plan one comes up with to absolve a situation of any 'sexual' or otherwise aspect, there is always going to be someone else who is going to see it differently. It's not enough to say 'Rise above all this, you worms'. What is actually going to work is understanding the reasons for why it happens, try and think as to what might make things better and have defences against those (and believe me, there will always be those) who don't think the same as you and try to get um, funny with you. I'm all for practical solutions that will actually work. This idealism tends to get boring after a while. I personally think that the quran teaches us these defences because God knows quite well that the situation is never going to be ideal.
Who is talking ideal? He had a massage from someone trained to do so and people try to make it out as if it was a problem, or even "shady" in regard to faith. If his intentions was to get a massage, then what is the problem? The more of a lid you put on things, the more pervs you create. Antidrug laws, makes youngsters smoke more dope, not less. This is a fact.
Does it say anywhere in the Quran that you cannot have a woman give you a massage, or is this a matter of interpreation?peace

Living proof are years of marriage, I don't even have to look towards weird naked people (not that I want to).

Of course, I meant that no matter what conceptions we have, we have to deal with many people who will have misconceptions. In which case, it is not practically possible to change everyone's mind but rather that we are prepared to deal with said eventualities.

About the quran, have you read the passages that talk about nudity etc? If you think there is a problem, please open up a thread for discussion. I would be quite interested in alternate explanations, if there are any. Peace.

so in respect to what were talking about, what you are saying is. If you see a naked man, you are "game" just like that?

how so, by not dealing with it? How so by hiding it away pretending its not really there? Either we live out the equal respect amongst the sexes, or we dont belive in it at all. It is the burka arguement all over. Does it not protect women from abuse that no man can see their body and thus "get tempted" ???

Like which passages? that women and men should cover themself in public?. I agree, by God there are far more people id rahter NOT see without clothes than there is of those id like to see naked. But we are not talking public, we are talking about a professional person, of female sex, using her skills on a male. This is no more akward to me than if my female mechanic fixed me gearbox.
Many of those well meant precautions that we like to think up, is afaisi often a direct route to more trouble than they solve. Ofcourse we could go back to total seperation between sexes and burkas, in fact, let men wear them too. No temptation at all. However i suspect that wont do much but create problems, and thus i stand by my view "Either we live out the equal respect amongst the sexes (nomatter what they individually chose to, or not to wear), or we dont belive in it at all and is mere good intentions. I belive the road to hell are paved with those.

Maybe you should have asked her to just massage your back and lowerlegs, without touching your thighs?
It was a Thai massage!
so in respect to what were talking about, what you are saying is. If you see a naked man, you are "game" just like that?
No. If a man sees me naked, he could think I'm game or whatever. If I see a naked man, I guess it would depend on how interesting he is, how intellectual he 'looks' before I would think of fun and games... ;D

What are you on about? There are NO black and whites in this world. There is no either we do this OR we do that. We have to live in a balance. I'm not about to go to some parts of Pakistan wearing a skimpy miniskirt but rather with a dupatta. That's just the way it is and we have to accept that. There are going to be such people and there are going to be such places, do with it what you will and if you would like to be prepared then there are certain things one should do to avoid useless and/or dangerous situations.

This is what I mean by idealism. Good luck with the equal respect 'thingy' (hilarious story ammarb, really). I don't think it's very practical. Peace.

awwww amable, better driving next time. It sounds like he was a p?#y that dirving instructor.

intellectual my ear! ;D
My point is, just becasue you see a naked body doesnt do anything for you, in fact i would think that less than 90% of nude men would have any effect on you but utter disgust, gnashing of teeth and the wish to go instantly blind.

sure, i will respect local dessisions obviously. But we are still talking about (or that is what i thought we were talking about???) someone going to a professional to get a job done. I mean sure if he was going to get "a massage" i could see the obvious problem. And i cannot accept that it should be any more sinful to have one sex or the other do it. Just like it doesnt matter to me what sex my automechanic, milkperson or dentist have, as long as they are living up to the expectations i have to them profesionally.

And i will rather aim for the stars and land face first in the mud, than aim for the mud and make it. Now go back to your RPG woman! ;D

Ah, speaking of body therapies and getting enriched with temptations. I've had several massages of all kinds; Sandwich being the best. I guess its all part of "relaxation" process fully equipped. Reminds me of my earlier days though.

You're a good girl nadia
when i see a naked man i don't look for his intellectY'know Elke, I hear the good girls don't get any fun sighs D

I would agree with you good sir. I think so too

I thought it was more of a general comment but yeah I already agreed in the first post I made that doesn't really matter if it's a woman or a man, they could be of a different permutation for all I know.
And i will rather aim for the stars and land face first in the mud, than aim for the mud and make it. Now go back to your RPG woman!
Thats an awesome quote, maybe you should change your siggy. You betrayed me btw, I picked out all the multi ones too! ;D
-
not betrayal as such. I havent found a copy i wanted to pay for. Some demand nealy full price becasue they have attached the shitty expansions to it. But i dont want those and i allready have both. So i was looking forward to nwn2, then we could start out a venture in a fresh new game.
I kindda like my current quote, it is a play on words from the main satanist of our age who proudly declared. "Do as thu will shall be the whole of the law". To which i add...yeah do that, and youll end in the hole allright! I cant take credit for that quote with the stars i think, but i cant remember who said it first.

I think it's all about one's own personal space and preference. Personally, (as stated in my first post) I don't think he did anything wrong. My could'a would'a should'as were merely trying to come up with alternatives for him because he personally felt his space was invaded and didn't feel comfortable. For me personally, I wouldn't like a professional male giving me a full body massage because I would feel uncomfortable being naked in front of a man I don't know. Male doctors I don't have a problem with because in my mind it's different. It really isn't different at all if you stop and think bout it, but a doctor I feel comfy undressing in front of - a professional MALE STRANGER oiling me up and running his hands all over me asking if it feels good ... ummm wait lemme think about it... NO.I had a couple crappy experiences with male doctors but still haven't come to the conclusion that all of them are bad. As long as they don't act on their thoughts i'm cool. in my opinion there is no right or wrong in this. The way you feel about things is the right way for you. And you don't have to justify it with all these examples of how "others feel comfy why shouldn't you".
I think Islamic dress codes are ok to be relaxed in settings where it's necessary to take off your clothes. But again, even in that instance both parties have to be ok with that. Like I had this one Muslim doctor whose face would turn bright red when he had to put the stethoscope on my chest and he'd try to slip it in barely holding it with one finger over my clothes and turning his face away. It was quite amusing but I would never take my shirt off because that would invade his safety zone. It's all about respecting other's space and this lady certainly didn't respect his space. It's not her fault though since he didn't out right tell her to stop. If I was her though, I'd take the hint from his body language and try not to offend him. The whole point is to relax during a massage not get tense ???
Oh boy driving tests are a joke ... this coming from someone who sucks at driving and shouldn't be anywhere near a steering wheel ;D I am the poster-child for all those sexist jokes about how women can't drive rotfl
What's the sandwich massage plz tell us all about your younger years uncle Danish juuuuust kidding D
I gotta agree w Enquirer ... massage from your loved one always takes the cake than some creepy dude with a bottle of oil in his hand .... unless the creepy dude happens to be your husband then it's time for a headache rotfl
ok lemme stop ;D -
Personally, I confer, that ammarb87 should come out and attest his "truth-in-lending", don't you think and thereby matter closed?
