Were we meant to differ and split into sects?

Salam Alaykum ,
When we look at those who lived before us, way back, even before the time of Jesus (AS) and and even before Moses (AS), do we not see those past people as humans like us? Like if all those scriptures and messages were corrupted, the corruption obviously didn't end with Jesus (AS) and the Gospel. Iblis has done it over and over again, destroyed one faith after another. He doesn't give up until his victims turn into polytheists. In the Noble Qur'an, we know that if Allah willed for all the People of the Book to be guided then none of them would of been misguided.
This corruption has been going on from day one. And if it happened to all those people in the past, wouldn't it also happen to us? The arabs weren't some chosen race , and muslims are not some special group, compared to those who lived before us. Each messenger has had enemies among Jinn and Man.One civilisation after the other, Iblis has taken hold. He has turned nearly all of them into polytheists, but to this day, after 1400 years, Islam maintains it's monotheistic principle. We are to go through similar trials of corruption just like those before us. Since Allah Almighty promised to protect the Noble Qur'an , don't you think that that corruption would occur in the hadith? I'm sure most of the people on this forum agree with me anyway.
But here is my question. Do you think that this cycle of corruption and differing is simply the nature of things since the beginning of man? And that through all this confusion, Allah guides whom He pleases? In other words, only Allah Almighty has the power to filter what a person hears, and He is the only one that can guide a person through of all this confusion.

i was thinking the same thing air, when i first came to accept islam i think allah shielded me from all the corruption and debate and i remember understanding that certian verses of the quran were specific to my own circumstances and were fielding my questions directly as i was guided to the best truth. as i delved further into islam and surrounded myself with muslims and their views, examined their culture etc, then came the problems, the doubt. its unfortunate, really it is.
personally i think we're kind of like a live beta program, an experiment a test or a game designed by god to see what choices a life-form left ultimately its own devices with an ability to decipher good and bad, will make. and then there is far more going on behind the scenes that god wishes for us to know. the quran is a small mercy for those whom god wishes see a part of the truth, to benefit themselves if they choose and if god allows, though ultimately mankind will have to wait until the cutains close on the world to discover the larger picture.

If thy Lord had so willed, He could have made mankind one Sect (One religion) but they will not cease to dispute (11-11 Except those on whom He hath bestowed His Mercy, and for them did He create mankind; and the Word of thy Lord shall be fulfilled "I will fill Hell with jinns and men all together." (119)
In chapter 11, God gave us a verse that has a very deep meaning, which I understand as follow
God created us for a reason that he WISHED to be fulfilled, that reason is ?All Human Kind gather around one religion belief). But because he wanted to let the Free Well of human being works its way, God decided to not intervene.
The result of the free well is, thousands of mislead religious sects, except for one sect, whom was the ?Ultimate Purpose of Human Creation? (Except those on whom He hath bestowed His Mercy, and for them did He create mankind).
(Please note that what God wished for did not come true '()The Question, why this Sect Succeeded in what billions of humans failed in, which to be guided by their Lord to the Straight Path?
So, the answer to your question, which ?Does Allah guides whom He pleases?? is YES.
BUT, Why did they deserve to be guided? is the question that we need to reflect on.

On contrary, God wishes DO always come true..
The problem is; sometimes people have a hard time on understanding what God wishes actually was..
Especially if God's wishes is not in accordance to what they actually wishes..Example
God wishes that SECULAR culture will eventually overcome the SECTARIAN culture..
The sectarian have a hard time to swallow this..BUT, Why did they deserve to be guided? is the question that we need to reflect on.
God will always guide those who seek out His guidance..

I saidUltimate Purpose of Human Creation
Which means, the reason why God created humans; as the verse means, God created humans in order to select the humans who would choose to follow and submitt to his orders.
And God called them Allah Sect "Hizb Allah" in verse 58-22Thou wilt not find any people who believe in Allah and the Last Day, loving those who resist Allah and His Messenger, even though they were their fathers or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred. For such He has written Faith in their hearts, and strengthened them with a spirit from Himself. And He will admit them to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, to dwell therein (for ever). Allah will be well pleased with them, and they with Him. They are the Party of Allah. Truly it is the Party of Allah that will achieve Felicity. (58-22)
On contrary, God wishes DO always come true..
Except Making Humans true Submitters by their Free-Well. Indeed, if God wants All humans to be Submitters, he could by saying "Be and it will Be". But he chose to not interfer (.

I have only created jinns and men, that they may obey Me. (51-56)
God Created Humans and Jinns for the Ultimate purpose of obeying his Commandments.
Can any one note that God wished for us to obey him, but very few did.
Please read the following verses that show how God is disappointed with his creation
Leave Me alone with whom I created! (74-11)
To whom I granted resources in abundance, (12)
And sons to be by his side! (13)
To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable! (14And even God said ?Ya-Hasrati? (it shows that God is not pleased)
Ah! Alas for My servants! There comes not an messenger to them but they mock Him! (36-30)
Can you note that the ultimate mission of any prophet is to ?Make God?s Wish Comes True, by Preaching humans about God?s Commandments?
