One Must be Knowledgeable of the Qur'an to be a Due Servant of Allah

The Qur'an is the Revelation of Allah and is the only Book that explains to believers the true meaning of faith. It is the only Book which explains to people the attributes of Allah, the favors of Allah and the way of Allah in dealing with disbelieving people, which are the kind of people the believer should not be. Only through the study of the Qur'an can one ever know how to be a due servant of Allah - any other definition of a believer is bound to be distorted.

The Qur'an explains the life beyond the existing world, the nature of death, and the Day of Judgment. All matters of guidance have been explained in detail so that the Believers may take lessons from them and conduct themselves according to them. By way of reflecting on the Qur'anic Verses, the true believer increases in his or her faith in Allah and the reality of the Hereafter, an attribute of a true believer stated in the following Verse

"Believers are they whose hearts tremble with awe whenever Allah is mentioned, and when His Verses are recited to them they increase them in faith and on their Sustainer they depend." (Qur'an 82)

Without exploring the Qur'an regularly, the human soul begins to loose its true nearness to Allah. This is the unfortunate state of anyone who does not explore the Qur'an but chooses to remain distant from it including all disbelievers. When the Believer listens to or reads the Qur'an, he feels closer to the ever-present mercy and protection of Allah over him and his heart surrenders to Allah. His vision is sharpened as he is reminded of the details of the Hereafter and the greatness of Allah, as well as the way he should view and respond to worldly affairs that Allah creates around him. His becomes confident in his purpose in life and reassured that this world is temporary and has flaws.

The nearer he is drawn to Allah, the more his desire is to study what Allah has to say in the Qur'an, and the more he studies the Qur'an, the nearer he is to Allah. This a positive circle of interdependent improvement of both Qur'anic wisdom and faith in Allah by which believers attain the highest level of true uprightness in this world, and the Paradise of Allah in the Hereafter.

One can see that faith in Allah and having Qur'anic knowledge are related concepts. One cannot attain true faith in Allah if he does not understand the Qur'an, and without true faith one cannot properly understand the Qur'an. This means it is Allah who initiates the path of guidance for whoever He pleases

"This (Qur'an) is a reminder. Let whoever wishes, take the way to his Lord. But you will only wish to do so if Allah wills. Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise." (Qur'an 7630)

Believers have a deep connection with the Qur'an. This is because they love and fear Allah and the Qur'an is the only Book where Allah communicates to them. What is of utmost importance right now, is that all readers loose no time in making a sincere effort to begin making steps on this virtuous cycle of continuous spiritual enlightenment, guided by Allah's Book. This can be done only by being sincere and by seeking Allah's help while studying all the Verses of the Qur'an in light of one another.

"This Qur'an guides to that which is most right"

Once Allah begins to enlighten the soul, keep on this course of Qur'anic reflection and increase in faith, and do not waver from it. If anyone takes on such a path, then by Allah's permission he or she will soon discover a path most sublime and noble, and will be on his way to becoming a true believer, and be deserving of the Paradise of Allah.
