Quranic Initials (ALM, TS, KHYAS etc)

peace phoenix1.

You're wrong. These are magical incantations. If you hang them on the wall, even if you can't read them, they will bring you money from unsought sources.
Really? How? Enlighten us, please.
and Fahad, why couldn't you post the verses in english??
I'd have to translate the verses. I posted them in a hurry. But I did translate the verse numbers so you can look them up.
I tried to find some pattern in the way they are set up, but couldn't find one. But I don't see many patterns in the quran.
Maybe that's because you don't look at the Quran, you look at the translations.
Everything is so random.
No wonder.
Ayman mentioned what Nadeem said too.
Any reference?
Maybe that's the right way to look at it.
Nadeem said that the initials can be abbreviations of larger sentences. If you think that's the right way to look at it, can you at least show us any such 'larger sentences'?

Hi Brother Fahad,
Brother Abdul Mannan has not explained all of the abbreviations, in fact only two of them. Which are alif-lam-mim standing for Ana-allah Alamu "I'm the all-knowing allah". And S?d for Al-S?diq "the truthful".
He indicates some sources where additional information could be found
- Al?,
- Ibn Abb?s,
- Ibn Mas'?d
- Muj?hid
- Ibn Jubair
- Q?t?dah
- Ikramah
- Sudd?
- Sha'b?
- Akhf?sh
I don't know who these men are, does anyone else?
Perhaps someone should contact brother Abdul and ask if he has further information.
Brother Phoenix,
Why are we being sarcastic?
Anyways, there is no need to find patterns in the quran. The quran is there so that you could find patterns in yourself, and eliminate them if they're harmful.

Thanks Nadeem. He didn't provide any reason?

Hi brother Fahad,
I get the impression that the brother uses hadith as his source for these initials, as he says "It's impossible that the companions of the prophet did not know the meaning of these.". I agree with Brother Mannan that the companions of the prophet must've had knowledge of these initials. In fact, as the quran says it was made clear for the arabs so that they could understand, I'd think it's safe to assume that these initials were common knowledge as the abbreviations PS and LOL are today.
There are two english translations of the quran that translate these abbreviations, and these are QXP and Maulana Ali's translation. Click the link below to see their translations
LinkAgain, I think it's a good idea to contact brother Mannan, as according his own book his "islamic library" was awarded the best personal islamic library by some magazine. I think therefore that the brother is sitting on a huge bank of information.

LinkThanks for looking up the translations, bro. But neither translator provides any reason. Maybe Phoenix1 can provide us some good reasons, since he has similar views.

Does he have an email address?
Thanks.

peace Fahad,
sorry.
I meant that depending on where Nadeem's explanation goes, this could be the correct understanding, because no other theory I've come across has been convincing. What Nadeem said seems logical, but that's all I can say in favor of it. -
Peace all,
Brother Ayman's article at the following link sheds some light on this topic (look at the end of the article)

Salam all.
What exactly are the Quranic Initials? They are closely followed by the mention of ?Al Kitab? or ?Al Quran? or ?these are the ayat of?? etc. What is their relation with what follows them? Any idea(except for code-19)? Because it looks like a pattern
Like Alif Laam Meem is followed closely by ?Al Kitab?, except in 291 and 301
My red emphasis in your words I have quoted above.
salaam+
You are perfectly correct in your observations. What have you concluded after all these years? I would be very interested to know. I will also start a thread soon on this matter inshaa ALLAAH

Individually Letter and consonants of Arabic alphabet do not mirror anything verbally. Arabic is a language of syllables and verbal information is conveyed only by a syllable comprising atleast of a consonant and vowel, even if it conveys only a bit of information.
This fact too leads to Dualism which is the fundamental principle of physical realm. So called Mystery of Initial Letter/Consonants

Can you give an example of my brown emphases of your above statement, "at least of a consonant and a vowel" or do you mean at least two consonants and ...?

It is the smallest syllable; a consonant coupled with a vowel . It has verbal expression-meanings.
Very good brother!
Although it is a preposition it can denote a type of verbal action even if it is not a verb.
Do you have knowledge as to the significance of the dot beneath? and why the letter is called al-baa'u?, why it is the second consonantal letter?, and why it is a preposition? This I can discuss with you in great detail if you wish to know inshaa ALLAAH.
