what are the translations of "noor"?

peace,
at times i feel like very enlightened and spiritual, at other times i feel like crap... despite reading al quran all the time! why does it work sometimes and why doesn't it work sometimes? why do i constantly so nervous? why are there evil forces against me? why am i so messed up? why does knowledge really doesn't matter now? how do i recover?
all of the above i have stated is indeed the reflection of how i feel? i want to regain myself, and i honestly need your help? i want to keep my life simple but i can't...
i just realized why. i am doing things against my own will. it is because i do things the wrong way, which in no turn benefit myself. i am illusioned by this worldly affair, writing this far has helped me a little...
school stinks! people say hi to you just to keep a good public image. otherwise i am tired of seeing actions for the wrong purpose, so unintentionally, i am forced to abide by it, WHICH IS NOT FAIR, AND UNJUSTIFIED! i have no real friends, i used to but i have lost the definitoin of a "real" friend.
i was enlightened by "arnold yasin's posts's about physics" i have acquired a lot of implications from arnold's articles but as i have fallen deeper into the illusion of my own pitfall i have created, i lost contact.
you might be wondering what does all of this has to do with "the quranic translation of noor" to some ignorant ridicule, this has no correlation, to me, "noor means a guidence to perform actions the right way at the right time!
wow! i do feel good! al-hamdulillah(all praises are due to God). my question is, how do i keep myself as a "straight" person and regain that connection i have connected before???
thank you for your time...

Peace Rifat,
Sometimes we backslide as this life is not free from worldly distractions. We all do. That's why there are some ayats which say be constant, patient, and hold firmly to God's rope. Here's some reminders which answer your question. There's more than just the ones stated below though.. Hopefully by passing these on, it will remind and strenthen myself,too. Insha Allah.
392 By no means shall ye attain righteousness unless ye give (freely) of that which ye love; and whatever ye give, of a truth Allah knoweth it well.
2238 Guard strictly your (habit of) prayers, especially the Middle Prayer; and stand before Allah in a devout.
57 And call in remembrance the favour of Allah unto you, and His covenant, which He ratified with you, when ye said "We hear and we obey" And fear Allah, for Allah knoweth well the secrets of your hearts.
1328 "Those who believe, and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allah. for without doubt in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction.

Peace mr. humble,
The power of words cannot be underestimated. The best advice I can give you is to learn about your own duality and find a way to reconnect on a regular basis. Remember that you are not your mind. The mind is just the car your soul has to drive in this life. Your soul is the eternal "you".
Now, getting back to the power of words...
why does it work sometimes and why doesn't it work sometimes? why do i constantly so nervous? why are there evil forces against me? why am i so messed up? why does knowledge really doesn't matter now? how do i recover?
In bold, are your constructive questions.
In red, are your destructive questions.
Where did these questions come from?They came from you. So, you're in control. Remember that. Your mind is like a computer. It cannot function on it's own. It needs input to process, and it will always process all input, whether it's constructive or destructive.
Let's deal with the destructive questions first...
why do i constantly so nervous?I presume you meant to say "feel so nervous" so I'll run with that. Now, is it true that you always feel so nervous? Are you nervous when you're eating? When you're watching a good movie? Listening to music? I'll bet you can think of 10 things you do everyday that don't make you nervous. So, the question is flawed to begin with. But there's still a problem. When you ask yourself, "why do I always" about anything, you're dictating a negative answer. Your mind will look for reasons why you always do whatever. Once it finds a reason, this solidifies the (false)fact that you always perform this action or behavior.
So getting back to the question the moment you ask yourself that, your mind might come up with something like, "I'm always nervous because there's something wrong with me. No one else looks nervous, so it's just me. Maybe I'm ill. Maybe I need medication. I should see a doctor. I heard prozac works wonders." and so on and so on, building a case for your nervous behavior and setting off a negative chain reaction of thoughts when all along, you're probably not that nervous to begin with.
Do you see the power of words?
The better way to handle something like this is to be specific. When are you nervous, who makes you nervous, where are you when you're nervous? Narrow it down to specifics then feed the questions into the processor and get specific answers.
The same can be said for all of your destructive questions. They're loaded with negativity, destined to manifest negative answers.
On to your constructive questions...
why does it work sometimes and why doesn't it work sometimes?
The qur'an's deep guidance is only available when you open your heart and mind to it. You must be completely tuned in to what you're reading. If your mind is wandering or you're preoccupied with something, you might as well put the book down and meditate for a while first. You need to clear your thoughts before the guidance can reach you.
how do i recover?
By reconnecting. Learn to meditate, or play some music, or draw/paint, or write peotry. You need to have a release that shut's your mind up and let's your soul shine through.

2238 Guard strictly your (habit of) prayers, especially the Middle Prayer; and stand before Allah in a devout.
my question to you is, if prayer keeps your "mental structure of thought and feelings organized" then how do you specifically pray the salt? secondly, does god says in the quran that we can pray any way we want? or is there a specific method. i have read a lot of salat posts and have found them to be very similar because no offense to anyone else's opinion, but i feel 5 times or praying three times and/or not reciting certain non-quranic duasa doesn't make salat a whole lot different from how i used to pray. even if i start praying 5 times, my only support will be "quran alone". i cannot verify since i do not know arabic, that's why i stopped praying salat!

Peace rifat,
Thank you for the kind words. I'm truly humbled, and I don't plan on going anywhere.
As for the SAT thing, don't give it too much credibilty. SAT and other standardized tests are not reflections of your worth in any sense. They only measure how well you've memorized and adapted to the current system. No test can measure you. You have God's energy within you. You are eternal, immeasurable. Your job in this life is realizing this, learning how to keep in touch with it, and understanding how to control your own mind and emotions rather than having them control you. The power of words is only one aspect, but a habitual one that we use constantly in our inner dialogue. Once you learn to recognize this, and it only takes a moment, then practice makes it easier to think and speak constructively no matter what situation you're in.
Example
You get fired from your jobDestructive reaction
Why me?
Why can't I ever keep a job?
What am I gonna tell my parents...maybe I should lie.
My life sucks!Constructive reaction
Thank God I have the ability to work.
What can I learn from this experience?
How can I use my new free time to do something positive?
What kind of new and challenging job can I now look for?I'm sure you get the point. Same situation, 2 entirely different outlooks, all self-created. You feed the mind constructive questions, you'll get positive answers and actually look forward to something good coming out of something bad. Feed it destructive questions, and you're opening the door to a negative chain reaction that can haunt you for years as long as you keep feeding it.
I highly recommend "Awaken the Giant Within" by Anthony Robbins. I read this book when I was 18 and it literally changed my life. He is a great teacher, despite the cliche he's become.
Peace,

peace Rifat,
Prayer (regardless of your concept of it), must come from the heart, i used to do the physical prayer but my mind was wandering and not in earnest way of doing it. There is a verse, saying the hypocrites stand in prayer to be seen, but they don't remember God. -\ And hypocrites go to hell!Pray to God to not make us among the hypocrites and, ask Him to make our hearts soft towards His guidance yet firm and strong in submittion. Also,
"What led you into Hell Fire?"
They will say "We were not of those who prayed;
"Nor were we of those who fed the indigent;
"But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers;
"And we used to deny the Day of Judgment,
"Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain."
