    Salaams,

    754-103???
Allah He who created the good repute and agreeableness with six punishments and then set the example over the dominion He lets overwhelm with decadence the prosperity and power seeking it swiftly and the Avaricious and the deceiving and the whisperers are subjected to His command verily His is the creation and the command blessed be Allah lord of mankind.

AND NOW ALLAH GIVES THE HISTORY OF THE SIX SPANS AND HOW THEY WERE SORTED.

    Noah
    Ad people
    Thamud people
    Lut and his people
    Madyan people
    People of Moses and Pharaoh.

Peace simple, you should consider the following explanation of G. A. Parwez

7-54 O Rasool! tell them that your Rabb is the One who has created the universe in six aeons and kept His control over it (10/3). In accordance with His laws, the planets revolve in such a way that day and night succeed each other in quick succession. The sun, moon and other stars also obey His orders. Take note! The domains of Khalq and Amr both belong to Allah, Who is the source of all blessings and Rabb of all the worlds.

41-9 Ask them, "Do you indeed deny God, the One Who has created earth in two aeons (to bring it to the present form), and ascribe equality to other entities besides Him?? (The first stage in the creation of earth was when it was like a fire ball which could not support life. The second stage was when it cooled down and supported life so that man could get means of sustenance from it.) He is the Allah Who has made arrangements for nurturing all human beings in the universe.

41-10 For this purpose He has placed towering mountains on the surface of the earth (from where continuously water comes out) and ingrained means of growing various commodities in it. The rotation of the four seasons has determined the set timings for different crops, for the people to get their food. This produce from earth should remain open for every person according to his need; and its doors should not be closed on anyone (3967; 5663-73).

41-11 In this way the Almighty turned towards the celestial bodies. At that stage they were all in the form of gas (nebula). We told them, "You must obey Our Laws willingly or perforce." They replied, "Why perforce? We shall obey these Laws most willingly.1" (382; 1315)

41-12 (As has been said above ~ in 419 ~ that in two stages the Almighty created celestial bodies in the form they were designed to be; and He imparted to them the physical law which they were bound to follow through Wahi (i.e. the Laws they had to follow were integrated within them). The visible space (the sky) has been adorned with scattered bodies that appear to you like shining lamps. He has made them safe and secure so that they neither clash with each other nor fall down on you.

        Salaams guest,

I have finished the one ayah which wasn't complete - if you see it is the same example to mankind in each of the six settings Allah has shown.

He has shown what He did in each case to correct mankind and give them a lesson and streighten them out - i think.

And I believe Parvaiz got it wrong.

I may translate the ayah's you have quoted - All at a later date.

        God Bless and Thanks.

          Salaams Guest,

here is the remainder - if it makes sense.

          Salaams Br.
          041.001
          YUSUFALI Ha Mim
          041.002
YUSUFALI A Revelation from (Allah), Most Gracious, Most Merciful;-
          041.003
YUSUFALI A Book, whereof the verses are explained in detail;- a Qur'an in Arabic, for people who understand;-
          041.004
YUSUFALI Giving good news and admonition yet most of them turn away, and so they hear not.
          041.005
YUSUFALI They say "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears in a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)"
          041.006
YUSUFALI Say thou "I am but a man like you It is revealed to me by Inspiration, that your Allah is one Allah so stand true to Him, and ask for His Forgiveness." And woe to those who join gods with Allah,-
          041.007
YUSUFALI Those who practise not regular Charity, and who even deny the Hereafter.
          041.008
YUSUFALI For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never fail.

(THEY SAID OUR HEARTS ARE CLOSED AND WILL NOT CHANGE, AND ALLAH IS SAYING BUT YOU DO HAVE A CHOICE -TO ACCEPT THE NEW OR STAY WITH THE EXISTING BUT SELECT THAT WHICH DOES NOT ENTAIL PUNISHMENT AND I HELP IN THIS BY GIVING YOU FAITH.)

          419-12.
Say do you verily disbelieve in Him Who created the punishments/favours as two and you set up with Him rivals that is the lord of mankind.

And He establishes therein stronger belief from superior understanding and He blesses therein so you are able to recover therein with vigor/strength from affairs of punishment of evil those who ask.

And once again directs Himself to character building while it is (in a state) unsure and says to it and the choice come both of you willingly or unwillingly they said willingly we come willingly.

So He completes them devouring/ killing the character/quality of punishment and He makes in each character/quality its affairs and We make it seem fair the characteristic with a best beginning as well as a guard such is the decree of the All-Mighty the All-Knower.

          041.013
YUSUFALI But if they turn away, say thou "I have warned you of a stunning Punishment (as of thunder and lightning) like that which (overtook) the 'Ad and the Thamud!"
          041.014
YUSUFALI Behold, the messengers came to them, from before them and behind them, (preaching) "Serve none but Allah." They said, "If our Lord had so pleased, He would certainly have sent down angels (to preach). Now we reject your mission (altogether)."
          041.015
YUSUFALI Now the 'Ad behaved arrogantly through the land, against (all) truth and reason, and said "Who is superior to us in strength?" What! Did they not see that Allah, Who created them, was superior to them in strength? But they continued to reject Our Signs!
          041.016
YUSUFALI So We sent against them a furious Wind through days of disaster, that we might give them a taste of a Penalty of humiliation in this life; but the Penalty of a Hereafter will be more humiliating still and they will find no help.
          041.017
YUSUFALI As to the Thamud, We gave them Guidance, but they preferred blindness (of heart) to Guidance so the stunning Punishment of humiliation seized them, because of what they had earned.

Peace Yahoo, doesn?t Quraan talks about more punishments (smoke, Gog & Magog) prior to the Judgment Day. How do you factor these events into your six punishments?

              Salaams Br,

The quran - which is a verbal message to the prophet 1400 years ago , i think.

Obviously it was talking about the greatest lessons Allah has given to the people who came before this race - six times.

Of course there where lessons to people of other parts of the world but if you speak with someone you will speak about there past of which they may recollect / have knowledge of - don't you think, and so Allah is reminding them of the past encounters with their forfathers.

              Gods Blessings.

Peace simple, consider a day after the smoke event i.e. smoke is a past event. Your current line of thought will not hold because now you have seven punishments which contradict with the number ?six? in the verse. What do you think? Or are you saying that this verse is applicable to people who lived during the Prophet Muhammad?s time only.

                  Salaams guest,

sorry but i was going to take a long break but merely came back becos of your quistion- no probs though.

4410 Then watch thou for the Day that the sky will bring forth a kind of smoke (or mist) plainly visible,
Enveloping the people this will be a Penalty Grievous.
(They will say) "Our Lord! remove the Penalty from us, for we do really believe!"
How shall the message be (effectual) for them, seeing that an Messenger explaining things clearly has (already) come to them,-

Sorry Br but I reckon its more like -

4410 Then watch thou for the punishment that will bring forth a character of a suppressed state beyond doubt,
Covering/ overwhelming the people this will be a Penalty Grievous.
(They will say) "Our Lord! remove the Penalty from us, for we do really believe!"
How shall the message be (effectual) for them, seeing that an Messenger explaining things clearly has (already) come to them,-

And yes this verse is applicable to people who lived during the Prophet Muhammad?s time only as all the reality shown is history beyond.

The future has lots of paths and depends on the road we choose.

                  God Bless Br.

Peace simple, you define the six punishments in the first post which does not include the smoke punishment. If you add the smoke punishment to your list then your total number of punishment is seven. This number seven will contradict with the number six (754) after the smoke event.

                      Salaams guest,

The smoke event is hardly worth mentioning ? proof is that it only accurs in one ayah of the whole quran ? if at that it is anything to do with smoke.

                      What you could have mentioned was ? may be;

                      The holocaust,
The first ,second world wars, the Bosnian war , the viatnam war and so many more.

The six punishments accured on a level wich is not normal ?whole nations were involved ? I think.

So they are used as an example to remind people at the time of the prophet.

Obviously you and me can be reminded with everything since so many more horrendous punishments have been taking place after him as well as before him..

                      Thanks and
                      God Bless All.
