I've been talking to a christian who's been hell-bent on converting me lol

he talked to me about how the koran speaks of men being allowed to have sex with captives of war with or without any consent or marriage. He explained to me that this is what "right hand posseses" phrase means. i got bothered not because he said it but because i don't know the answer. Can someone plz help me understand this phrase?

Point to verses 425 which shows that if a man wanted to marry ma malakat aymanukum then he must do so after obtaining the permission of their parents and paying the dowry.

Nothing here supports the false concept of this group being slaves or captives. Rather, it seems to be a description of people who are still too young to make independant choices and thus marrying them is a form of betrothel until they are old enough to consumate the marriage (note how they receive half the punishment for adultry once they are old enough - this is because they were not fully independant in choosing their husband/wife and thus there is some leeway given by God for this being an arranged marriage).

"And whoever of you cannot afford to marry the believing independent women, then from those committed to you by oath of the believing young women. God is more aware of your faith, some of you to each other. You shall marry them with the permission of their parents and give them their dowries in kindness; to be protected, not for illicit sex or taking lovers. If they become protected, then any of them who comes with lewdness shall have half the punishment of what is for the independent women of the retribution. This is for those who fear hardship from among you. But if you are patient it is better for you, and God is Forgiver, Merciful." (425)

So when the verse states "ma malakat aymanaKUM" it does not mean you marry what YOUR right hand possesses but rather you marry what your (referring to believing community) right hand possesses, i.e underage girls who cannot make their own decisions in life yet. did i get it?
