    Peace,
    Respectfully.

This is very urgent and important.
    On this forumhttp//www.topix.com/forum/religion/islam
I have been talking to some people who apparently want to know about some different version of The Quran that comes from Yemen and on the very forum there people claim that more versions of The Quran existed and then some were destroyed.

I'd appreciate all your responses and all your help regarding this matter, thanks
Provide links and archeological evidences and thanks for all the help.
    God bless you.
    Peace.

O you who believe! Avoid much suspicion (speculation) , indeed some suspicions are sins. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting)] . And fear All?h. Verily, All?h is the One Who forgives and accepts repentance, Most Merciful. (49-12)

Gossips are what believers will always hear, and truth is what they will always seek.
And in this Case, the truth is "The Quran is Gaurded by God"
      peace

peace alen i once started a thread about this alleged quranic manuscript here
        http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=16873.msg169224#msg169224

im afraid i wasnt able to glean much more information about it apart from the few links contained in that thread and the discussion with SC.
it appears all information about the yemeni copy been subdued for various reasons if it all isnt simply a hoax. i would be interested in reading it myself if your friends over on the other forum can ever furnish a copy.

there are accounts that there were differing versions of the quran circulating and that one of the caliphs who compiled the quran as we read it today had them all destroyed save the verses he considered authenthic from what i gather.

This Quran is not a diffrent version. It only lacks diacratal marks making it readable in difreent ways. The Quran most possess the Cairo edition is the same thing with diacratal marks. In order to read this Quran you must have commen sense and you must understand context. You also must be well versed in arabic. It is not a diffrent version. Though it could become one if you put diacratal marks difrently. Many verse can have a very difrent meaning without marks. And this copy does not have the marks.

Exactly. The Yemeni manuscripts was assumed by some Western historians to be a different one because the Yemini authorities were secretive about the findings. But later it was revealed to be really no different except it had no diactrical marks as many early Korans didn't.
