As humans we have free will in circumstances that arise from others free will.

You have free will WITHIN the Divine Plan. An example is being on a boat going to Jamaica, that is your destination(destiny), there is no way to stop the boat from going there, but HOW you get there is up tp your free will, meaning some people are in the basement shoveling coal in the engine, others are above board playing shuffle board. There are planned events in your life, how you deal with the events of your life is your free will.
To to say we can prepare for them and not change them is causing a confliction in my opinion with the free will The God has given us.

My theory is that dreams hold symbolic messages about how the nature will affect us in the future based on our free will. Its kind of like the astral(dream) world is connected with nature and us in some complex way that it can calculate and work out future events for us but presents them in a symbolic way.

I understand your dilemma with what I am saying, but you cannot get around destiny. Everyone has a destination. It does not stop at not being able to pick your parents. This is a test being given to you, the events are already planned, it is up to you to make the best of your plans...however, I am told that if you truly succeed at the test in this lifetime, then you create your own destiny...but I have not gotten there so I dont really speak on that.
You can still get the full aces on your trip to Jamaica...happiness comes from within, outer conditions must not be allowd to influence your peace(salaam)..that is the essence of "islam".
