One of the common mistakes among the members of the abrahamic religion is that they think when the Quran says People of the Book, it means the Jews and Christians who are the companions of the Bible. This creates a problem. When the Jinns heard the Quran, they went to their people saying that we heard a Book after Moses and other verses that denotes The Book is that of Moses and is a common Book between the Jews and Christians ie. Both recite it but simply they disagreed on it. On the other hand, the Quran states that revelations were sent to two communities before us and we were oblivious to their teachings. This is called the Torah and Gospel. The Torah was with the prophets, never menitoned with Moses. The Gospel, as outlined in the Quran, is a single book with Laws in it and there is Ahl-Injeel. This means that the Jinn were oblivious to the Gospel- a book given to Jesus. It seems that there is no Ahl-Al Tawrat!? So what do you think? Are the previous revelation a single revelation ie. Book of Moses or is it a dual revelation called the Torah and the Gospel. How can you resolve that apparent contradiction?? voodoo
Another problem is that the Gospels never had laws after the Nicene creed in a manner like the book of Moses.Peace.

Who is the People of the Book exactly? Who is the people of the Injeel? are they different? What is the Book of Moses? Isn't there a book of Jesus? If not then the Gospel is not a book or some kind of amndment to the Book of Moses??

Abraham was not a Jew nor yet a Christian, but he was true in faith and bowed his will to Allah's and he did not associate lies with Allah. (3-67)
Now, can you tell that they are the people of the Bible and the People of Torah.

See People of the Book (singular) but Torah and Gospel is two books!! But I will tell you an idea. The word book in the Quran means a revelation that contain laws and in case of the judeochristians it is the Mosaic Law so they both share the same Law. The Torah is the book of Moses plus the amendments of the prophets and the Gospel is again the Book of Moses plus the amendments given to Jesus. Thats why the whole Bible is for the Israelites ONLY. The torah is a guidance to the israelites and Jesus was sent to the Israelites. The Quran is also a book because it contains laws too. It is a single book cuz there is no amendements to it as there is no prophets after Mohammed. Another word for Book is Zikr. The word Zikr refers to the Book of Moses and Book of Mohammed cuz both contain laws one for the israelites and the other for mankind. yayPeace.

God refers to the three Books (Quran, Bible, and Torah) using the Word Book--Singular)--most of time.

As you can see from the previous verse there are TWO books of guidance. The Book of Moses and the Quran.
6154 Then We gave Moses the BOOK, to complete for those who do right, and to fully detail all things, and a guide and mercy that they may believe in the meeting of their Lord.
6155 And this is a BOOK that We have sent down which is blessed, so follow it and be aware, that you may receive mercy.
There is no such thing as a Book given to Jesus, Jesus was taught the Book.Peace.
