    peace,

Wherever you may be, death will find you, even if you are in fortified towers. If any good befalls them, they Say ?This is from God,? and if any bad befalls them, they Say ?This is from you!? Say ?All is from God;? what is wrong with these people, they barely understand anything said!
Any good that befalls you is from God, and any bad that befalls you is from yourself. We have sent you as a messenger to the people and God is enough as a witness. (478-79)

in 478 when it says "all is from God" it implies that both good and bad are from God do to the accusations it was answering, yet in the very next line it says only what is good that happens to us is from God and what is bad that happens to us is not, how can all be from God yet anything bad that happens to us (which is part of "all") not be from God but from our own selves? a translation error? or is my understanding incorrect or what?

also 731 implies that bad things are from God, a contradiction?

When any good comes to them, they Say ?This is ours,? and when any bad afflicts them, they blame it on Moses and those with him. Their blame is with God, but most of them do not know.

    get back to me

    peace
