Why Islam instead of Christianity?
-
Hi everyone. I am currently suffering from some doubts about Islam. Why should I follow Islam instead of Christianity? What makes Islam more true than Christianity? ???
-
To me its the same faith. Its just a question whether you follow the Bible or not. Christianity like Islam is not always consistent with scriptures it claims to speak for. Islam as we know it today is not necessarily dependent on the Koran. The Koran however says we should believe in all of God's scriptures and prophets.
-
Because christianity is Roman paganism with Jewish roots. It is heretical to all scriptures. The Torah says its laws are forever and it is for Bani-Israel Exd 1224. The Gospels teach that Jesus went to Bani-Israel alone Mat 106, Mat 1524 and all of the early followers of Jesus were zealous for the Law!! Act 2120 I don't know how did Paul get this 'Grace for the world' heresy. It is simply unbiblical. The Quran is a guidance for mankind and reject these pagan ideas and it is foretold in Isaiah 42.
Peace.

Peace to al,,
Paldin, why should you follow Jesus and worship him instead of GOd only, Jesus was a muslim, he believed in and worshipped only GOd, thats what we try to do here. Where does the confusion come in.
Kurt
Because Christians teach that Jesus was God. In fact, some would say that in the Bible, he claims to be God. I will quote a Bible verse or two where Christians say that Jesus claims to be God. What would be your response to this Bible verse?
John 1030 KJV I and my Father are one.
Would you say that the New Testament is corrupted or what?
-
I do not know what you mean by "christianity", but according to quraan, supporters of Jesus were "muslims".
What I mean by Christianity is the religion that has the following creed
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen. -

Christianity is very divided today. so severely divided over which bible to use and
their doctrines are inconsistent with eachother. there have been attempts to restore
Christianity to its original roots, yet such an original Christian faith was most likely far, far
different and more of an Proto-Islamic type of faith than what the faith has become over
the centuries. if you wish to learn about jesus in a more islamic-friendly way, read the
"gospel of thomas", which has 114 separate sayings attributed to jesus.this might help and i have found the "gospel of thomas" to be good. this might help
you out some. you can buy a small separate copy of the "gospel of thomas" for a small
price at a local bookstore, if you live in the united states or canada or even in certain
parts of europe, where english is the primary or secondary language.hoping this can
help some. personally, i used to read apocryphal literature dealing with christian gnostic
religion, but i kinda out-grew it over the years like i did my video-games.i still play some
of my city-sims and myst 3exile on some weekends, yet this is not as much as it used
to be when i was in my earlier 20's. i am 25yrs old now. talk with you all later and if you
live in the united states like i do, "happy thanksgiving!"Roger

He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.Forget what Christians believe or think, lets look at the verses of the Bible used by Christians
Jesus is reported to have said ?he that hath seen me hath seen the Father? and ?I am in the Father, and the Father in me? (John 149-10); but in the same passage he shortly goes on to add ?At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.? (John 1420) Again, while Jesus does proclaim ?I and my Father are one? (John 1030), he also prays for his followers, ?that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us.? (John 1721) Whatever the nature of the ?oneness? Jesus is claiming exists between God and himself, it is apparently something that is supposed to hold between God and all Christians ? in which case it can hardly be the relation of numerical identity.
Likewise, in the two New Testament passages where Jesus is said to have regarded himself as ?equal with God? ? John 518 and Philippians 26 ? the Greek word translated ?equal? is isos, which means ?on the same level? or ?of the same rank,? never ?identical.? The claim that Jesus was God did not become Christian orthodoxy until the Council of Nicaea in 325 CE. The orthodox reading of these passages seems natural today only because they are read through the lens of what ?everybody knows? about Jesus? claims to divinity; few would find incarnationism in the texts unless they first brought it there.
An objector may point to the opening lines of the Gospel of John, which apparently identify the ?Logos? with God (John 11) and the ?Logos made flesh? with Jesus (John 114). Of course these lines were not spoken by Jesus, and so do not show that Jesus himself claimed to be God; but in any case, what exactly are they saying? The relation between God and the Logos seems to fall short of strict identity; the Greek, literally translated, says something like ?the Logos was with the God, and God is what the Logos was? ? an awkward construction clearly trying to express a subtler relation than identity. The term ?Logos? is borrowed from Greek philosophy, where it means a thing?s abstract rational nature; the Logos that is ?with? God and is what God is, is not God but God?s nature. To say that Jesus is the Logos made flesh, then, is simply to say that he is a physical embodiment of God?s nature. This hardly makes him identical with God, since all human beings are supposed to be created from God?s spirit (Genesis 27) and in God?s image and likeness (Genesis 126-27).
Indeed the New Testament authors clearly understand Jesus as offering everyone the opportunity to be sons (and daughters) of God and to partake of God?s nature? But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.? (John 112-13)
?For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. ... And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ.? (Romans 814-17)
?Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him.? (1 John 32)
As the New Testament authors understand Jesus? message, being the ?Son of God? is evidently not a status that Jesus claims for himself alone, but one that is open to all Christians; In a Blog's Stead - February 2004

Why should God make Himself crucified to forgive mankind? What for? Why should the fact that Jesus was crucified or not make a difference to attaining paradise through good deeds and a virtuous life? If Jesus is crucified you get and if he doesn't you don't? And it must be precisely Jesus and not anybody else but Jesus?
A good deal of the Christian doctrine is a beautiful allegory, when you try to make it material reality, excuse me, but it looses all its sense. The allegory you do not have to rennounce it to be a Muslim. It is indeed very eloquent. The same with trinity, but trinity is not an essential trait of God, just as doublity nor qudruplicity nor any other number, and those have existed in other religions, but never to diluty the unicity of God. Where you put trinity, you could put any number. Also the trinity with a particular man who was born and lived and died.
You should study the religion of ancient Mexico. It is very similar but more coherent and less forced, and they did make human sacrifices also, but the explanation was much more logical.

Free Minds God said "O Jesus, I will let you die, and raise you to Me, and cleanse you of those who have rejected, and make those who have followed you above those who rejected until the Day of Resurrection; then to Me is your return so I will judge between all of you in what it was that you disputed." Crucifixion factsHis name was raised to God, after his death. The christian texts, may be inspired by gnostic texts, a long time after his death. (gnostic used here, as an early form of christianity)
The prophet Jesus, will not return.
The prophet Jesus, will not return.
Jesus Christ, meaning Jesus the exalted, a man of high rank, is said to come in the future, by sectarians.
The Quran states, that Jesus was raised to God. And indeed, the christians hold him that highly. To them, Jesus and God are the same.
However, some use this verse, to support claims about his return. The prophet Jesus, will not return.
Jesus was of jewish origin, and the christ, was a messenger to the jewish people.
Jesus was this messenger.
Unfortunately he was rejected by more or less of his own people, and was therefore never accepted into what we call judaism today. Those who accepted him, was instead called christians, and the Roman Paul, later launched him as a messenger for everyone. Unfortunately, confusion arose while this was going on, and Jesus, who compared himself to Adams fatherless origin, when he called himself Son of Adam, was instead, probably by people who was mocking him, called "Son of god". This was blasphemy, and people who heard the expression, were upset. Blasphemy in these times, was looked harshly upon, and the death penalty, not uncommon. Rumours is not just a problem in modern times, in other words. People thought he called himself Son of God. At Pontius Pilate, who was his judge, Jesus said, it wasn't he who called himself that.
An interesting aspect of the crucifixion is ofcourse the name, Bar Abba. (Son of God). A criminal by the name Bar Abbas, was also in Pontius custody.
Jesus did not call himself Bar Abba, but this criminal did call himself Bar Abbas, and that would also be a greater sin, for the polytheistic romans. And Jesus was held in high regards by many. Pontius Pilte is in the bible portrayed as a thinking man, and his wife sympathetic towards Jesus. Pontius Pilate is in jewish writings (Josephus), also portrayed as a man, who stages illusions. In the Quran, it is stated that Jesus, was not crucified.
Most muslims, believe that Jesus was exchanged for another man at the cross, and this was probably Bar Abbas.Unfortunately Paul the roman, did not know about this, and accepted the expression "son of God". He did not know Jesus personally, and had only heard of him through others, and that is how he picked up this expression.
And that is also where christianitys doctrine of the trinity begins. The christian trinity, claims that God is three entities, God, Gods son, and the holy spirit.
In Islam, there is One God. And he has no sons. And a spirit is a spirit.
This thinking is known among early christians, aswell as modern unitarians. It is also the same thoughts held about God, in Judaism. In Jesus time, there was also gnostic christians, who used the expression Son of God, or "of God", to be highly religious, and not about physical sonship. So here, there was quite a bit of confusion! Praised be our Lord, that we have the Quran, to read what is right.
The Quran states, that Jesus, was raised to the same rank as Allah. If he was to return, it would also have said so. And indeed, Jesus is a name of God, in christianity.
And about his divinity, the Quran states, God breathed into you of his spirit, and gave you life.
But it gives us no reason to call a human, God, about Jesus it states, he was the spirit of God.We are the people who are the worshippers of God, the caretakers of land, or our society. This is with us, and not fictional persons in hadith. And the evil one is the same as always, the spirit of satan.
And Gods people have evolved society through all times, and our current time, is blessed with technology and ease. -
Peace to all,
first Paldain girl, that is not what christians believe, that is the apostles creed that the Roman catholics only believe, so i assume your catholic, which I once was. When jesus says I and the father are one, does not mean hes saying hes GOd,, in fact, he consistently says hes not GOd, why do you always try to imply he is when its contrary to jesus own words. And why not continue the quotes, Jesus also says we are all one in GOd, not just him, he says we are all one spirit and we are all going to be one in GOd, as I am in you you are in me and we are all in GOd,,, that swhat he said, so quit chopping and slicing and editing his words and then making creative deductions to twist the truth of his message, that s whats causing all you christians all your problems.
