    Peace all,

I would like to know if anyone have any ideas about the whereabouts of the sacred valley of Tuwa where God spoke to Moses. This valley houses a tree that is supposedly the burning bush. What is the relation between Tuwa and Bakka? are they the same place? Lets look at the verses that talk about this valley

2012 I am your Lord, so take off your slippers; you are in the holy valley Tuwa.
2830 So when he reached it, he was called from the edge of the right side of the valley at the blessed area of the tree O Moses, it is I, God, the Lord of the worlds.
7916 His Lord called him at the holy valley of Tuwa.
2320 And a tree which emerges from the mount of Sinai, it grows oil and is a relish for those who eat.
2846 And nor were you on the side of the mount when We called. But it is a mercy from your Lord, so that you may warn a people who received no warner before you, perhaps they may take heed.
2829 So after Moses fulfilled his obligation and was traveling with his family, he saw a fire on the slope of the mount. He said to his family Stay here, I have seen a fire, perhaps I can bring you from there some news or a burning piece of the fire so that you may be warmed.
2080 O Children of Israel, We have saved you from your enemy, and We summoned you at the right side of the mount, and We sent down to you manna and quail.
1952 And We called him from the right side of the mount, and We brought him close to talk with.
2844 And you were not by the side of the western when We decreed the command to Moses. You were not a witness.
Note that all translators translate the part in bold in 2844 as the western side. If thats so it should have said 'Al-Janib Al-Gharbi' but it says 'Bejanib Al-Gharbi'.

So this tree that produces oil was the burning bush from which God called Moses and it emerges from the right side of a Mount that forms the western boudary of a valley. Where do you think is this place?

    Cheers.

        Salam brothers and sisters.

The sacred valley of tuwa is located in the northern western part of Saudi Arabia above which is mount tur or mount Sinai. The modern name of The mountain is jabal al lawz or mountain of almonds. I refer to the ayat in the Quran that you referred to in surah al mukminun 2320 "And a tree which emerges from the mount of Sinai, it grows oil and is a relish for those who eat." Almond oil is very good and it's also used for food. The valley underneath the mountain is vast and has numerous artifacts to indicate the presence of israelites in the area. After reading the verse I'm surah mukminun I'm more than convince that this is the legendary and sacred mountain of god or mount tur revered by all the abrahamic faith and the valley is indeed the sacred valley.

Do email me at [email protected] and I'll email you the photos of the site and the archeological remains found at the site. I love looking at biblical archeology from an islic perspective and and I find many interesting findings. 1. Who was the pharoah of the exodus, 2. Who was asiah or prophet musa's step mother 3. Why the difference in the desciption in the Quran and the bible with regards to the stepmother of Musa AS. 4. Where did Nabi Musa cross the red sea 5. Where is mount tur and the sacred valley tuwa. 6. Who was dzulqarnain and the purpose of the story of dzulqarnain. 6. Who is yajuj and majuj and the prophecy in the Quran on them in surah al anbiya and I'm sure there are many more

I can share my theory but I'm sure there is a reason why Allah puts these clues for us on the Quran. What's the implication on us in this modern day and age. For one the finding of mount tur is significant and could potentially escalate into a global religious conflict. It is holy to all Jews Christians and Muslim and all would fight to have possession over it. The verse you quote in surah toha verse 12 2012 ?I am your Lord, so take off your slippers; you are in the holy valley Tuwa.? has an almost identical verse I'm the old testament "Do not come any closer," the LORD warned. "Take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground." so this is potentially explosive.

        Regards

        Qamar

              Findings

              Salam

My theory is based on the following tenets 1. The Quran is the absolute and irrefutable truth 2. The Christians and Jewish literature can be used as a guide but where it is contradictory to the Quran, then the quranic view prevails 3. Current archaeological findings inclusive of those made by amatuer archeologist. 4. The history of the revelation ie how and why the revelation come about. I must say that I'm not a scholar or an expert in the subject matter but since I find very few Muslims in fact hardy any, specialising in this area of "islamic" view of prophetic or quranic archeology, I have to of course use whatever is available in the public domain based on biblical archeological scholars and rationalise with quranic and islamic opinion to develop my theory on this subject. I must emphasis that all these are just my thoughts and theory and I do hope official islamic academia take it up as s serious area of study. I believe that it has massive implications in our days of akhirul zaman and the political, religious and geopolitical implication is massive. Anyway back to the questions I raise here are my theory.

              1. Who was the pharoah of the exodus
The current thinking is that the most likely candidate is Thutmosis iii who is one othe the two great warrior pharaohs of Egypt, the other one being Ramses ii. In the bible it says that the exodus or the crossing of the red sea happened 480 years before the building of the temple or mosque of Solomon AS.
In 1 Kings 61 It says "In the four hundred and eightieth year after the people of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, he began to build the house of the LORD."

This is clear timing indication of the timing of the exodus. The commencement of building of the
Mosque of Solomon was dated by Jewish and christians scholar to be at 966BC and if you add 480 years you will get the year 1446BC. This is the most common view amongst the biblical scholars on the dating of the exodus. There is one major problem with this date because no pharaoh died around this time based on the Egyptian dating. Also, the bible is silent on what happened to pharaoh whereas the Quran is very specific in that pharaoh died in the sea. Thutmosis iii lived during this time ie from 1479-1426BC. So the current biblical theory is that the exodus happened during thutmosis iii reign but he survived the parting of the red sea.

What we know from the Quran is very specific. Pharaoh died in the red sea and my theory is that indeed thutmosis iii is the one who died there based on the following reason. 1. The dating of the exodus should use lunar based calendar rather than solar based gregorian calendar. Original jewish calendar follows lunar calendar just like our hijri calendar which is 11 days shorter than the solar base calendar. If you recompute that based on lunar calendar you will find that 480x11=5,280 days or 14.5 gregorian years. Using this you'll date the exodus around 1430BC which is close to the date of the demise of thutmosis iii. The difference of 5yrs is too small so that it can be accepted. Since the old testament is silent on what happened to the pharaoh and the date that they come to is not close to the death of thutmosis iii, biblical scholars theorise that pharaoh did not die but lived several years agreement exodus event. For us Muslims we know that pharaoh died in the sea and thutmosis iii death more or less coincide with the timing of the event hence showing us the strength and accuracy of the Quran. 2. Thutmosis iii is the pharaoh who is known to have finally expelled the Hyksos who are an Asiatic people from canaan (modern day palestine) who ruled part of Egypt for several hundred years. Perhaps I should explain about who these Hyksos people are as they are important and some biblical scholars have theorise that these are the forefathers of Jews who lived in Egypt and worked as the workers who built Egypt. Remember Jacob AS's 12 children are the basis of 12 tribes of bani Israel and the Hyksos predates this. The Hyksos first appeared in Egypt around the 11th dynasty(2134-1991BC), came into power in the 13th dynasty (1773-1650BC), ruled lower Egypt in the 15th dynasty(1650-1550bc) and was only expelled out of Egypt in the 18th dynasty during which is when thutmosis iii lived. In fact ahmose 1, thutmosis iii great grandfather was the one that defeated the Hyksos and in the time of thutmosis iii they were finally expelled which coincides with the dating of the exodus. Could this be one of the same. I strongly believe there is a distinct possibility. In fact, Yusof AS may have been the chief visor of one of the Hyksos kings that ruled lower Egypt, which is located in the Nile delta. Its quite easy to imagine a semitic Hyksos king accepting another Semite as opposed to an Egyptian king accepting a Semite prime minister. The capital of the Hyksos dynasty was a place called avaris which got destroyed during the defeat of the Hyksos kings. Recent excavation shows relics similar to Hebrew traditions eg bone laid on it's side etc. Discovery was made by german archeologist manfred bieteck. Thutmosis iii also defeated the Semites on the battle of Megiddo (Armageddon)
              3. Thutmosis iii bears some of the characteristics of the the pharaoh of the exodus namely he is succeeded by his second son. His first son died earlier as what was described in the old testament ie death of the first born.
              4. On the adopted mother of Musa AS the bible says that she was the daughter of pharaoh whereas the Quran says that she is the wife of pharaoh. Biblical scholars use this to refute the Quran because there is no reason for the difference and it's an error of the Quran. Since the old testament is older than the Quran and hence closer to the event it throws doubt on the validity of the Quran. My view is simple, since the author is the same, it's merely God revealing another characteristic of this noble women we call asiah. She is both the daughter of one pharaoh and the wife of another. And if you look at the time period when thutmosis iii lived two candidates for asiah emerge - one is hapshetshut, the daughter of thutmosis I and the wife of thutmosis ii and the other is Neferure who was the daughter of thutmosis ii with hapshetshut and was said to be the wife of thutmosis iii, her step brother ie son of thutmosis ii through a different mother. There are many statues of Neferure with a small child - could this be the statue of Musa AS with her adopted mother. it interesting that Allah said wife of pharaoh and not queen of Pharaoh. It is for this reason that I tend to lean towards Neferure as the candidate as opposed to hapshetshut as hapahetshut actually served as co- regent with thutmosis iii after her husband, thutmosis ii

                Hello Rami,

You just asked right questions. I think that true aspect of Moses story can't be revealed in this time because of Muslim/Christian/Jewish observance. I think that it will be revealed by the time with efforts of open minded people.

                Peace.
