"House of God" So is a bayt a house and bayut houses in the quran?

I used to like going on Haj in that i at least had a break now and then ;D
But is the Bayt in the quran a house?

My own understanding from the context;
You know entering houses from the front or back doesn?t embody any form of virtue you can enter your house through the loft if you choose to- but following other then the allowed methodologies in a system to eat up what is someone elses is what is being talked about.
In the above example Bribery is the back door.
