On 14th of February, a group of Muslims met at Laguna Niguel (South of Los Angeles), to discuss establishment of Muslims for Peace, Justice and Progress (MPJP)... We had great discussions, oscillating between "we are going change the world" and "we cannot even change our neighborhood." We discussed the purpose of the organizations, its structure and finances and many other issues. We even questioned the necessity of such an organization.

In the end we came up with the following points and short-term goals

    1. Even if MPJP does not realize its goals, even if becomes one of the many small inactive organizations, it has a chance to become the voice of peace, justice and progress. Because of our philosophy, diversity, and independence, we had real chance to unite Muslims for those goals.

    2. MPJP should be a transnational organization. We are muslims without borders.

    3. MPJP will have several audience the USA government, American People, and Muslims around the world.

    4. MPJP will have country and city representatives and it will have a list of experts, especially on politics, theology, and law.

    5. The Mission Statement of MPJP will be rewritten.

    6. A Position Paper will be written.

    7. After the Letter to Obama is revised by the president of the organization, Ruby Amatulla, and it will be opened for public signature at the website, www.mpjp.org

    8. For donation, a Paypal account will be opened at the same site.

    9. A creative public activity will be organized.

    10. In the second stage of its establishment, Muslim groups and individuals will be invited to join the organization.

PS Those who participated the conference please feel free adding or revising my report.

    Peace,
    Edip Yuksel

You said we are "Muslims". Could you explain what is a " Muslim"?

I asked him before, but he never answered me.
        My question was

If Moslems should be united in their believe, would I be a Moslem if I believe that 9-128 & 129 are Quranic verses? And if I'm a moslem (I can join his organization), who would be the ones who reject them?

I hope he will answer this time.
        Peace
