Did Abraham see one star and wasn't aware of the rest?

The most striking point is that Ibrahim alahissalam has used word "Rabb" NOT ILAHA. No idolator in the word call the idols as their Rabb but consider them as Ilaha. These two words are distinct from each other. He was emphasising for them to consider this point that how someone can be Ilaha when that is not performing as rabb.

That is how I took it, especially in light of the pagan religions inserted through syncretism.

There aren?t to my knowledge any idols in sura 12, it?s all about Joseph.
When ever one goes in their behavior in opposition to Gods commands you are doing shirk.
Shirk isn?t about statues or stone idols of any sort ? according to my research.

Coming from the Christian faith and the prevelant idolatry within, both in Catholic and Protestant sects, I stand by my interpretation and context of the Surah.
If you wish to keep stone idols as icons of God, a spiritual being that man cannot gaze upon without dying, that's on you.

In my opinion, only sentient beings can be 'Rabb' as the Rabb acts and takes care of things.
Absolutely, but i suppose a mans actions could be Rabb as well- does it necessarily have to be an entity?
But anything could be an 'ilah' even stone idols.
How can stone idols be Ilah? do they have any attributes like Allah?

I personally destroyed all the Marvel and DC comics statuettes, trophies from past accomplishments, and destroyed original statuettes along with the molds when I came to know God. Tore down posters and images of heroes and movie posters as well. I'm not willing to endanger my soul in a matter like this.

Yes any intelligent being can be a Rabb. Like in Joseph's time, the King was called a Rabb. God is your highest Rabb. Pharaoh thought he was the highest Rabb. So a Rabb is a disposer of affairs. An Ilah is an entity that is prayed to. So if you pray to a non-Rabb Ilah like a stone. Don't expect any response soon. ;D

The ancients didn't worship the stone but thought the stone represent a diety that can respond by praying to his/her image. Now I am an apologetic for paganism. So God send messengers first to correct this. He didn't punish them immediately.
