      Good question.

How can someone deserve to go to heaven/hell for ETERNITY for doing sins/good deeds for about 60-80 years of his/her life?

        Peace,

Yeah, the believers will go to the garden of Eden in Mesopotamia while the rejectors will burn in the Valley of Hinnom. -[

There is no afterlife man. It was created to mobilize the masses. If there is, then why did God punish the first generations??

God only promised Canaan to Abraham. No Eden or Hell.

Did you wonder why they killed babies in the OT. Because it cuts the seed of their enemies as passing your seed is the ultimate goal in life as you live through your seed. Thats why Abraham was whining about not having a son.

        Peace,

        Rami

Are you saying that the threat of being thrown into "the eternal fire" is all about scare mongering to keep us all in line ? What about the rewards of eternal bliss in "paradise" ? If one does not believe in the afterlife , the last day and the heaven and hell , can he or she still consider himself/herself a believer/muslim ?

          Peace

Do you get the religious practices/beliefs from the OT? Besides, I am pretty sure there is a mention of the afterlife in the OT.

Anways, what should matter to you is the Quran. The Quran talks about the afterlife.

569 "Those who acknowledge, those who are Jewish, those who are the followers of other religions, and the Nazarenes? Whoever acknowledges God and the Last day and does good works, then they will have nothing to fear nor will they grieve."

262 Surely, those who believe, those who are Jewish, the Christians, and the converts; anyone who (1) believes in GOD, and (2) believes in the Last Day, and (3) leads a righteous life, will receive their recompense from their Lord. They have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.

I am no longer a Sunna-rejecter. See 4:59-65, 62:2-4, 3:31, 4:156, 7:157 Messenger teaches and is to be followed and obeyed. Examples of revelation received which is not in the Qur'an: 3:123-126, 33:37, 2:187, 66:3, 62:9.

If we do not believe hell is eternal in the afterlife, then we shall believe paradise too is not eternal and we will be thrown out of paradise into hell fire depending opon the cases against us. This means the judgment is not over yet even in the hereafter; or God's paradise is not any pure from the earth of today.

              .

                Peace,
                Respectfully.

I'd say that The Hell is eternal. When you look at the rich people who don't believe nor follow The Quran, you'll get this feeling that they have "everything" they want and that they are living like in Parsdise right her eon Earth. These people here who don't believe nor follow The Quran but are living like inside of a paradise, are convinced that they deserve all that and to them, it seems like their "wealth" is gonna last forever and that it does last realllllllly long.

That's from their point of view. If they read The Quran, they would see that Earth is not forever and all the "wealth" on the planet here will disappear.

But from our point of view, we can see the truth, Thank God.

HellFire is Eternal, i believe God's Words. When i was told that i've been banned from entering USA for ten years, to me, that seems like eternity. Honestly. But ten years is not eternity from the point of view of US government, right?

                Peace.

                  Peace,

I personally believe in an afterlife though it seems it is an inconsistent belief that appeared later in history. There is also something very disturbing about the story of Noah's people. God says that Noah's people were drowned and pushed into the Fire in the past tense. Are they in the Fire NOW?

                  Scary.

                  Peace,

                  Rami

I actually challenged an orthodox Jew to prove the afterlife in the Torah. He never answered back.

Yeah, there's no afterlife in the Hebrew Bible. The Valley of Hinnom as hell comes from an elaboration of prophetic statements about God filling up the earth with the wicked as a result of their worshipping other gods in Topheth.

It was later combined with the Greek Tartarus. By Jesus' time it was taken for granted that hell was Gehenna.

Jesus in the Christian Gospels makes it sound like hell is temporary. He gives the parable about the slave who owes his master. His master forgives his debt, but the slave goes and extorts money from someone else who in turned owed him. The master hears of this and has the slave punished until the debt is repaid. The moral being, be merciful as God is merciful otherwise you'll be punished in kind.

The Jews believed (and believe) in an identical temporary hell, though and the Quran takes them to task over the belief, so I'd say assume it's eternal by the Quranic standard. Or at least lasting until judgement.

?How can someone deserve to go to heaven/hell for ETERNITY for doing sins/good deeds for about 60-80 years of his/her life??

Because the amount of damage caused by the crime is infinity. On the other hand worshiping one God and doing good deeds amounts to infinite joy and happiness.

3372 - We have offered the responsibility (freedom of choice) to the heavens and the earth, and the mountains, but they refused to bear it, and were afraid of it. But the human being accepted it; he was transgressing, ignorant.

You could have refused the responsibility but you didn?t. Therefore, you will be responsible for your actions.

7172 - Recall that your Lord summoned all the descendants of Adam, and had them bear witness for themselves "Am I not your Lord?" They all said, "Yes. We bear witness." Thus, you cannot say on the Day of Resurrection, "We were not aware of this."

Good people will not go back on the above oath (7172).

                        Please read and reflect

448 - GOD does not forgive idolatry, but He forgives lesser offenses for whomever He wills. Anyone who sets up idols beside GOD, has forged a horrendous offense.

3937 - And whomever GOD guides, nothing can send him astray. Is GOD not Almighty, Avenger?

4731 - We will certainly put you to the test, in order to distinguish those among you who strive, and steadfastly persevere. We must expose your true qualities.

762 - We created the human from a liquid mixture, from two parents, in order to test him. Thus, we made him a hearer and a seer.

2214 - Do you expect to enter Paradise without being tested like those before you? They were tested with hardship and adversity, and were shaken up, until the messenger and those who believed with him said, "Where is GOD's victory?" GOD's victory is near.

We may clothe it in whichever words we choose, but to an y mind, to punish anybody eternally to the most horrendous suffering is disproportionate, unimaginable of anybody who claims beig just and even most merciful. If we, who are not all merciful would not punish anybody eternally horrendouslly, excuse me, but something here is missing, no matter how clever we may be with words.

1)will muslims, who committed sins more than good deeds; will they go to heaven someday after spending time in hell?

2)how do we know that time will exist in heaven and hell;because time started after the big bang?

                              3)Will earth/solar system/milkyway/local group/whole Universe be destroyed on ahirat(doomsday)?

Does not the Koran say in some verses that "we will give them a taste of the punishment"? La Nuthieqannahum Min Athab Al Hareeq. This could be different from eternity as other verses say. Samia would know the Arabic of those verses as to the difference between LiYuthiqannahum and Liyumassannahum and Khulood(eternity).

Thieq I think is taste and Mas is touch.

Some have said that Khulood has different meanings.

                                Also this

                                &#1612 (12 ) &#1615 (107) ) &#1613 (10

6.128. One day will He gather them all together, (and say) "O ye assembly of Jinns! Much (toll) did ye take of men." Their friends amongst men will say "Our Lord! we made profit from each other but (alas!) we reached our term - which thou didst appoint for us." He will say "The Fire be your dwelling-place you will dwell therein for ever, except as Allah willeth." for thy Lord is full of wisdom and knowledge.

11.107-108. They will dwell therein for all the time that the heavens and the earth endure, except as thy Lord willeth for thy Lord is the (sure) accomplisher of what He planneth. And those who are blessed shall be in the Garden They will dwell therein for all the time that the heavens and the earth endure, except as thy Lord willeth a gift without break.

                                hmm

Did you not know about the life time imprisonment? Some country even has two life time sentence. How about death sentence? All these worldly punishment equates to eternal punishment. Think about it. Life=eternal.

I've never stolen, or murdered or committed a sexual transgression, but it's still hard to swallow that if I (especially as a youth) got caught up in a bad crowd and stole a bike or something and then got plowed down by a truck I'd end up in hell for all time.

I think that, but then I see evil men on TV, murderers, politicians, etc and they're so totally unapologetic, forever doesn't seem long enough. Surely God is just and is a God of discretion.

                                        Peace,

Maybe it's kinda like the Buddhisms belief of the cycle of rebirth or something where you are born again and again until you become perfect, as they say.
