I know how everyone here hates 'foreign' influence mentioned in relation to the Qur'an, but has anyone looked into the relationship between the words Qiblah and Kabbalah. No, not the weird Madonna 'religion', but the Hebrew word meaning tradition. They're spelled literally the same.

(my computer gets screwy with right to left text so this might look different than how I see it on my screen)

    q b l h

    q b l h

This would change the meaning to

The fools among the people will say ?What hath turned them from the (pagan) TRADITION to which they were used?" Say To Allah belong both east and west (i.e., the true religion is not just for the Jews, etc, but the entire world) He guideth whom He will to a Way that is straight.

    And

...and We appointed the (pagan) TRADITION to which thou wast used (i.e., God allowed you to be turned to paganism), only to test those who followed the Messenger from those who would turn on their heels.

Very interesting, makes amazing sense for that verse. What about 1087?

(I used to understand qibla meaning gathering/assembly point/place. Try it with 1087 also...

        Yeah, I forgot about 1087. That's a thinker.

Provide dwellings for your people in Egypt, make your dwellings into...

        ...places of reception?

        ...places of tradition?

        ...places of communion?
