Personally i think there is no need for a 'single Base' for the muslims (especially in this age) -- we kind of need 'a multitude of networked bases' instead, if you get the drift. Well, that's just my own opinion -- do present us your view whenever you're ready!

I am pretty busy, But inshallah when I have time I would love to explore and give a good report on the Kabba.

In regards to what you said about the "Base"...I beg to differ.... In fact, In my Perceptive of the Quran, It seems that Allah has many times made it clear or implied that we are ONE UMMAH...and are in RANK. When we Pray it has been said to Stand Shoulder to Shoulder with each other in Ranks and Rows. This Idea is supported by Hadiths, BUT is also echoed in the Quran when speaking about being in Rank.

Also, the Quran seems to send a great message of Community. After Reading Many Posts on the "Free-minds Fourm" it seems Most of the people are very Alone and Individual...(which is Great) BUT...It is also Good to have a Balance....Share a Consensus, and Perhaps Share a Spiritual Center...

I have Wrote many things about Muslims Sharing a Spiritual Connection, Yet still being Individuals Culturally.

Having a Kabba, or Spiritual Center is great because it serves as a Point where we can all unite for a Common purpose...And then Leave to our daily life in our home countries/Tribes... Kind of like We are all from Different Rivers, Streams, Creeks, and Sea's....But eventually we all Meet up in the Ocean...Then the Sky...Then Return Back to our Original Location.

We should Grow Bonds togeather...Be Proud to be Muslims in One Ummah...Under One God. Help Each other out and Meet up to Worship at a Center...BUT Still hold True to our Cultural and Tribal Traditions/Customs,and cultures...(as long as they are "halal" of Course"... do you understand?

Kind of like what The UN was SUPPOSED to be....but is not.. LOL yes

I will ask a Question to those who believe Israel (or actually called Cannan since Israel is a person not a place...., at least to me that is)...Is the Spiritual HOLY LAND that is Untouchable....

If Israel is the Holy land, and Mecca is Obviously not due to the pagan influences it contains in its city, Then How about the Pagan influences Israel has? Also, How about the vivid satanic actions that are in the "Holy Land"?....

I've seen Many True "Jewish" people actually state that Isreal is in all reality not a "Jewish land" but a land with many people who Follow Conjecture contrarry to the Torah.....(Hummmm.....sounds like Mecca as well...)

So the question is.... WHERE is the HOLY LAND? and more importantly...Is it Only "HOLY" under Conditions?

"Remember Allah's Protection is Conditional", so...

There is a lot to be discussed. However my point was that this "base" concept can be realized in ways previously unimaginable. It is not necessarily physical at all. Or it could be both physical and simultaneously, not limited to any one single focal point.
