    Aynur,

Men also have similar "defects", but Orthodox Muslims only pick on women because women are easier to pick on. How shameful.

      Cushan,

I think a female messenger would be a really good thing now when everyone associates misogyny with religion.

Profets are an example to follow by the propulations they are sent to. Who would need more to have an example of meekness males or females? Both need it. But if a woman Profet were to be an example of meekness it would be harder for males to assume meekness was required of them.

On the other hand Maryam was a Prophet, although some males-only persons may think the opposite, at any rate she was certainly more of Profet than nearly all males in the world.

Your feminist spirit can't tolerate it.

          Thanks for the compliment handshake

What's the role of the prophet anyway?

          971

And the believers, men and women, are protecting one another; they enjoin the right and forbid the wrong, and they establish worship and they pay the poor-due, and they obey Allah and His messenger. As for these, Allah will have mercy on them. Lo! Allah is Mighty, Wise.

More than this? Different from this?

          and how about this

Men would scream a lot more than women do if men gave birth. Women have a greater pain threshold than men. And so what if women scream when they give birth? What effect does that have on their ability to be prophets?

That's Sunni/Shia garbage. There's no verse in the great reading that suggests women have "a defect in their religion".

I am glad that someone realise how nonsensical it would be to give any reason that prevent women to be messengers.. Infact there is no reason whatsoever, and what utter nonsense it would be to say men and women have different roles and bla bla.

What quran has told us is pretty clear

We sent not an apostle, but to be obeyed, in accordance with the will of God. If they had only, when they were unjust to themselves, come unto thee and asked God's forgiveness, and the Apostle had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found God indeed Oft-returning, Most Merciful.

We follow the messengers by God's permission and anyone who care about truth would listen to the messengers regardless of their gender/status. There is no such verse in quran that suggest God didn't send any female messenger. And after reading the link in Samia's above post there should be no doubts and lame excuses left in minds that could possibly prevent women being messengers.

femi?nist /'fem{shwa}n{I}st/ noun a person who supports the belief that women should have the same rights and opportunities as men.

Any man who is not feminist is clearly a misogynist.

What do you mean by equal rights? They both have different roles in society like night and day. They complete each other.

Lets give an example, men can marry multiple women but women cannot. Here unequal rights for you. Why? Because they are different physiologically.

Wake up from the idiocy of feminism which is destoying the basic family unit.

Women and men are clearly equal. Of course they MAY have different duties/roles, but this is also not always true in the west. The Quran definitely says that both men and women are equal.

Are you saying that they are not equal?

They are equal in basic human rights. But masculinity gives and takes away some privileges and so does femininity.

Actually most human rights are basic. But there are some exceptions for men and women. Not that man takes the right of the woman or the other way aorund. Sometimes there must be apparent inequality for the hidden differences between men and women.

"Men" and "women" don't complete each other. Every useful and productive individual in a society contributes to creating a complete and prosperous society.

Myth. And it's common knowledge that women have more orgasms than men so using your argument, it's women who should be allowed to marry more than one person!

Wake up from the idiocy of feminism which is destoying the basic family unit.

What's so good about the "basic family unit"? I'm not the kind of person who thinks that women should subjugate men, that the male population should be reduced or any of that nonsense, but I believe women, like men, are individuals and should enjoy individual rights.

For example, a man can have multiple wives but a woman should have only one at a time. Apparent inequality for the greater justice. Man gives the seed, woman recieve it.

Peace and welcome to the Forum

women had no rights until islam came along... if a women was a prophet in those times she would have been killed

When was the advent of Islam and why would women prophets would have been killed ? Do you think the god would be un-able to protect them ? What evidence from 'The Qur'an ' regarding women prophets never existed ? I am asking you these questions because The Qur'an only mentioned very few of them and considering that this earth of ours is so old and billions of human have come and gone .

                                          Peace
