Zania before zani in 24:2 then zani before zania in 24:3

Peace
As you know, 'zania' comes before 'zani' in 242. Then in the second verse it is 'zani' then 'zania'.
Why is that?
I expected this to be covered before but couldn't find it after many searches so I would appreciate any links to other threadsThanks everyone and God bless y'all!

In the first instance both women and man are particularly identified and held guilty of the act of Zina after the production of witnesses in the court of law.
Afterwords they are two seperate entities. This particular man Zani could marry any woman who had been held guilty, in the past before him, of Zina with any other man. And similarly this particular woman zani could marry any man earlier guilty of zina with anyother woman.

hmm But why isn't there symmetry in the rest of the Quran?
God bless
Peace,
Who told you symmetry is not present in the Quran brother? Infact it is present almost everywhere... But need to do the appropriate research to notice them...
Check this thread
http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=7454.0As for my view on Zaani and Zaaniyah... For me it give the sense that both are equal in the SIN which they committed... I mean, none of them is more evil than the other...

Peace,
What I meant was symmetry when it comes to the sexes. From what I have read it is usually the man first than the woman, but please do correct me if I hadn't come across other instances where the woman comes first.
Thanks for the link. What I found interesting is that right after the verse where zania come before zani (242), God tells us that both the zani and zania are equal (243). So it doesn't matter who comes first in 242.By the way, I'm a sister
God bless

Oh sister... sorry.. I do not check the 'gender' sign most of the time..
Anyways, that was an interesting find on your side... And it is another logical statement that is enforced in the Quran... Same as the verse where it says Isa is like Adam... and few others.
Its called logical statement. The God is really great ... The Quran is amazing...
