"Those whom your right hands possess"?

Peace,
Who are "those whom your right hands possess"?231 Those who acknowledge are indeed successful
232 Those who are humble in their contact prayer
233 They abstain from vain talk
234 They are active towards betterment/give money to charity
235 They guard their private parts
236 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or those whom their right hands possess, for (in their case) they are free from blame -
Peace progressive,
There is no "hands" in the original Arabic. As herbman suggests, this topic has been discussed in great detail on the forum and in the free-minds articles.

Peace QS,
Since you are implying that yameen means "right hand" then please provide evidence that it means "right hand".

(294 (O Prophet,) you did not read any book before this, nor did you write any with your right hand. If it were so, the worshippers of falsehood could have been involved in doubtNow I demand from you exactly in the same way ,that you provide the evidenc that "yameen" does not mean "right hand".

Peace QS,
Thank you for educating me. I didn't say that "yameen does not mean "right hand". I said that there is no word for "hands" in the Arabic for "ma malakat aymanukum". Yameen might mean "right hand", but still it does not mean "hand". If I just want to say "hand" in Arabic I wouldn't say "yameen". None of your references say that "yameen" means only "hand". Thank you for the references.

"Maa malakat aymaanukum " has not been translated as "what your HANDS possess". It has been translated as "what your RIGHT HANDS possess".

Anyway take care.

You can look at the dictionaries.

Could you be more courteous to sister Samia than telling her to look it up in the dictionaries ? What is so difficult about telling her if you happened to know what she is asking ? I thought you could be more useful and helpful than that brother .
