Is the fire of Hell allegorical?
-
Peace
Many of you speak of the allegory of heaven. How about Hell? Is it really fire and flames?
God bless
yes its for real, but you don't have to worry if you are a true Muslim. elhamdulillah Muslims won't go to hell.

Fire and flames are visible, whose seen Hell amongst us?

Good point. I'm kind of leaning towards the allegory view. When I think about it, it just seems right to me. I think that what Hell really is is perhaps a distance from God or something similar. But, no matter what it is it's a bad place to be.

The problem people think this as to make Hell look less painful. Corporeal punishment is the way to go with God. Look at all the Quranic punishments in the Quran and how God punished the first generations. The flood wasn't allegorical and drowning is a very painful death.

For someone from the poles, "hell" is not that painful.
But again saying it's allegorical does not necessarily mean it is less painful. Just as saying the description of paradise is allegorical does not mean it's less amusing paradise maybe far more beautiful and hell far more painful, but we cannot imagine them except through descriptions of things we know. Some people commit suicide by burning themselves surely they find fire less painful than the "hell" they are living, yet we cannot imagine what "hell" makes them burn themselves. -

They say its allegorical because it is very harsh.

Peace,
Respectfully.I guess we have to wait and see. This remainds me of a scene from Strange days where ralph Fieness tells Angela Bassett that he saw soomething very important on the disc and when she asks what is it, he says, i can't tell you, you gotta see it for yourself. He says, it's that important.
I think we will be able to talk more freely about the description of Heaven and HellFire when we arrive to Heaven. I mean, how do you descibe the taste of a chocolate to someone who doesn't even know what chocolate is? I have never eaten horse meat nor a pigeon, so i can't comment on it. When i do, i'll be back and we'll talk.
Peace.

Recently I've been thinking that Hell is a feeling/ emotion but in the Quran God says that everyone will see Hell so it is definitely a place and a very bad one too.
God bless

How do you know? Have you been there?
-
Peace,
Do you have any evidence its not literal??? The description is so detailed that the allegory is meaningless.
Peace,
Rami
Did I say that it's not to be taken literally?

I am just responding to the 'Hell is a dream' frenzy.
You were adressing my post. If you didnt want to do that then you shouldnt have adressed it. I never wrote that it is all allegorical.
