During my short time on this forum, I have come across many, many words I do not understand, such as "haram", "Alumu", "salat", etc. etc. Would it be possible for someone to write a small dictionary for me?

Just tell me the words and I'll be happy to translate

      Haram prohibited
      Halal allowed
      Alamu knows
Salat contact prayers (a few here are still researching this word)

      Anything else?

Thank you. I have another four
              Zakat
              Dawah
              Hijab
              Khutbah

Zakat - contribution towards betterment, purification, increase, charity (basically any kind of charity - be it food, money, knowledge, etc. etc. on the day of harvest; ie. when you recieve it.)

Dawah - missionaring(?), the thing that missionaries do

Hijab - veil (not just head-cover, any kind of veil)

              Khutbah - sermon

From your first list you wanted to know "salat".
It means "contact", "contact prayer, "follow closely", "connection" "remaining attached" (note some of these are from the root of the word, not just the noun, that's why there are verbs).

I am no longer a Sunna-rejecter. See 4:59-65, 62:2-4, 3:31, 4:156, 7:157 Messenger teaches and is to be followed and obeyed. Examples of revelation received which is not in the Qur'an: 3:123-126, 33:37, 2:187, 66:3, 62:9.

lol. either he pressed "d" instead of "s", meaning he wanted to write "shirk" or he mixed up "r" and "k".

                                    anyhow, Rev. John
you have the meaning of "shirk" now.
                                    "dhikr" (spoken "zikr&quot means

                                    reminder, remembrance

can anybody think of other meanings?
