I have seen many people who believe and read the Quran but do many bad acts which are prohibited.Does it mean they should stop believing in the Quran ?

I had hoped this would not offer a platform for the sort of comments I have seen.
Let me reiterate my point, Inshallah.
It is a da'wah opportunity here in the west, that people might come forward and ask about it. Which is one of the points I made in the original post.
Secondly, the hijab does not make one modest, but it should remind one of Allah and to be modest in behavior. I heard a fictional story meant to illustrate a point about a man who was disfigured from birth.. yet he was fashioned a mask of a handsome face. At first, it itched and was not comfortable, yet after a few years, he found his skin had begun to contort into the shape of the mask itself and he was made handsome for it. The point being, I think when it is done properly, the covering and what it means, it can remind a woman or a man that this style of clothing means something.
Please brothers and sisters, keep to the original intent of my post and not hijack it as a means to proliferate your dislike or distaste for it for whatever social or political reasons.
Inshallah, Allah will guide us on the true path.

I was thinking this morning about how things are in America, as regards my own upbringing and then the logic train steamed on towards contemporary issues with the women in our deen. Inshallah, I will get thoughtful responses.
To elaborate, when I was young, catholic nuns wore the full habit and you knew who they were as apart from other women on the street. Likewise, if I ever looked at an image of Mary, she was covered likewise. I know this was a certain time period, yet the nuns of that day still thought it proper. This got me to thinking, I understand that many of my fellow american muslims will tell me that the best garment is modesty for a woman, yes, but even if the hijab is not a specific prescription as per Al-Qur'an itself, if worn for the right reasons it still sets her apart from the unbelievers.
What if it is being worn by a hypocrite? What if the person is not pious/righteous? What about the example I gave you about women from Saudi Arabia travelling to Europe during Ramadan just to not fast?
Or in other words just in order not to get caught not fasting (yeah, right..they were caught laugh.I remember a catholic priest when I was young likewise, that had made a similar idea. "When I wear the black clothes and white collar, people know what I stand for and that I am set apart as a priest for this life. Reminds me to be humble before God and to always serve him and my fellow man as best I can."
Interesting point - but it is what is in the heart/mind/our intentions that counts - not how we look or dress ourselves.
I want to remind you of a very important verse from the Quran2177 Piety is not to turn your faces towards the east and the west, but piety is one who acknowledges God and the Last day, and the angels, and the book, and the prophets, and he gives money out of love to the near relatives, and the orphans, and the needy and the wayfarer, and those who ask, and to free the slaves, and he observes the Contact prayer, and contributes towards betterment; and those who keep their pledges when they make a pledge, and those who are patient in the face of good and bad and during persecution. These are the ones who have been truthful, and they are the righteous.
I am not just going to speak to the women of course. I happily wear my kufi, long white shirt and dress pants as my regular outfit as a means of showing my appreciation of being a muslim and I have had more random strangers speak to me than when I would wear plain clothes earlier in my life as a revert. We can argue about the beard or what else may be worn by a brother, yet if the idea of wearing it is to be a living testament to our faith set apart from those who do not follow the deen and it inspires them to speak.. is this not a good thing?
I respect that, but remember the Quranic verse and my words above.
To finish, and I know I have a miniature book by now, lol, Jazak Allah Khair to the brothers and sisters who are still reading this. I would wrap up with saying, I recall there being a passage about we are only different in our modesty and how deeply we long to serve Allah. Please, Inshallah, correct me if I am wrong.

I was not saying we all must assume middle eastern clothing, lol. Far from it. I cited catholics because that is what I was most familiar with growing up. The point was, because of their manner of dress, you know who they were and what they stood for. I recall when I was a child also, where it says in the bible for a woman to cover her hair, the modest women in the child I attended as a child would do so.
Contrast this with a buddhist monk I met at one point. He was sitting on a bench in front of walmart, after inquiring turns out he was waiting for his fellow brother as he obtained a few necessities like deodorant. Now, one immediately could grasp that this fellow was not just anyone off the street.. lol. I was fascinated and by that, an opportunity to learn a bit about his beliefs was there and a friend made.
I find americans are rather social for the most part in parts of the west and the southeast. They can be open minded and speak to you to learn something. As I say, since I wear my kufi and modest clothing.. it is not because I am towing a party or religious line. It does not mark me as X or Y for my own self. Actions are judged by their intent.
I meet more women who rebel against the covering in america as reverts, because regardless of their religion, they are still at heart children of the sexual revolution and feminism and think they can carry on these ideals when it is in opposition to the teachings of Islam. I do not toss out all hadiths, btw, some I feel are very good. Such as the ones about honoring your mother, that paradise is found at the feet of the mothers, that a woman should raise good muslims.. that the most honorable thing a woman can do is be a great mother at home with the children.
This is coming from the intent of wanting to engage others because of how I dress, not that how I dress itself counts. This seems to be the fundamental misunderstanding and if completely my fault I apologize, but I would presume I was communicating well enough, lol.
Ah well.. Inshallah, I have said what I should and will leave it be. I was happy at least Q_student enjoyed it.. lol.
