Quraish in the Torah
-
Salam, Peace,
I learned from someone in a forum the following
The Quraish are mentionned in the Torah and they were the guardians of the Sacred Temple in Jerusalem.
The word in Torah looks like this
Qorashiyy =
coming from "Qorash" =
Identify now the differents letters
= Qoph (exactly the Qaf in arabic)
= resh (the ra' in arabic)
= cheth (lth shin in arabic)with vowels, we have
"korash" is the name given to the FIVE two of Essa? and 3 of Isra?l. Their descendents are the "Korashy". A name of a tribe given for their work/function which was related to some tasks in the Temple.

The theory is getting more evidence and credance.
All what's left is to dig Arabia inside out.
Sodom, Solomon, and the Ark could be archaeological realities!
This also means that the Quraish could be partly Israelites and so have the Book given to Moses! Thats why it speaks to the Meccans about the Mosaic Book.
A vague history almost always holds alot of surprises.
I guess the Yemenite Jews already know this.

Please read the Torah, Book Of Numbers 161-1635. post it here please and give your thoughts. Its important for me.

Num 161 Now Korah the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, with Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took {action,}
Num 162 and they rose up before Moses, together with some of the sons of Israel, two hundred and fifty leaders of the congregation, chosen in the assembly, men of renown.
Num 163 They assembled together against Moses and Aaron, and said to them, "You have gone far enough, for all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is in their midst; so why do you exalt yourselves above the assembly of the LORD?"
Num 164 When Moses heard {this,} he fell on his face;
Num 165 and he spoke to Korah and all his company, saying, "Tomorrow morning the LORD will show who is His, and who is holy, and will bring {him} near to Himself; even the one whom He will choose, He will bring near to Himself.
Num 166 "Do this take censers for yourselves, Korah and all your company,
Num 167 and put fire in them, and lay incense upon them in the presence of the LORD tomorrow; and the man whom the LORD chooses {shall be} the one who is holy. You have gone far enough, you sons of Levi!"
Num 168 Then Moses said to Korah, "Hear now, you sons of Levi,
Num 169 is it not enough for you that the God of Israel has separated you from the {rest of} the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to Himself, to do the service of the tabernacle of the LORD, and to stand before the congregation to minister to them;
Num 1610 and that He has brought you near, {Korah,} and all your brothers, sons of Levi, with you? And are you seeking for the priesthood also?
Num 1611 "Therefore you and all your company are gathered together against the LORD; but as for Aaron, who is he that you grumble against him?"
Num 1612 Then Moses sent a summons to Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab; but they said, "We will not come up.
Num 1613 "Is it not enough that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey to have us die in the wilderness, but you would also lord it over us?
Num 1614 "Indeed, you have not brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey, nor have you given us an inheritance of fields and vineyards. Would you put out the eyes of these men? We will not come up!"
Num 1615 Then Moses became very angry and said to the LORD, "Do not regard their offering! I have not taken a single donkey from them, nor have I done harm to any of them."
Num 1616 Moses said to Korah, "You and all your company be present before the LORD tomorrow, both you and they along with Aaron.
Num 1617 "Each of you take his firepan and put incense on it, and each of you bring his censer before the LORD, two hundred and fifty firepans; also you and Aaron {shall} each {bring} his firepan."
Num 1618 So they each took his {own} censer and put fire on it, and laid incense on it; and they stood at the doorway of the tent of meeting, with Moses and Aaron.
Num 1619 Thus Korah assembled all the congregation against them at the doorway of the tent of meeting. And the glory of the LORD appeared to all the congregation.
Num 1620 Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,
Num 1621 "Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them instantly."
Num 1622 But they fell on their faces and said, "O God, God of the spirits of all flesh, when one man sins, will You be angry with the entire congregation?"
Num 1623 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
Num 1624 "Speak to the congregation, saying, 'Get back from around the dwellings of Korah, Dathan and Abiram.' "
Num 1625 Then Moses arose and went to Dathan and Abiram, with the elders of Israel following him,
Num 1626 and he spoke to the congregation, saying, "Depart now from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing that belongs to them, or you will be swept away in all their sin."
Num 1627 So they got back from around the dwellings of Korah, Dathan and Abiram; and Dathan and Abiram came out {and} stood at the doorway of their tents, along with their wives and their sons and their little ones.
Num 1628 Moses said, "By this you shall know that the LORD has sent me to do all these deeds; for this is not my doing.
Num 1629 "If these men die the death of all men or if they suffer the fate of all men, {then} the LORD has not sent me.
Num 1630 "But if the LORD brings about an entirely new thing and the ground opens its mouth and swallows them up with all that is theirs, and they descend alive into Sheol, then you will understand that these men have spurned the LORD."
Num 1631 As he finished speaking all these words, the ground that was under them split open;
Num 1632 and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, and their households, and all the men who belonged to Korah with {their} possessions.
Num 1633 So they and all that belonged to them went down alive to Sheol; and the earth closed over them, and they perished from the midst of the assembly.
Num 1634 All Israel who {were} around them fled at their outcry, for they said, "The earth may swallow us up!"
Num 1635 Fire also came forth from the LORD and consumed the two hundred and fifty men who were offering the incense.OK. Here it is. Nice and fresh. Very similar to the Quranic narrative!
What are you pointing at?

Lets see the Quranic narrative
2876 Qaroon was from among Moses people, but he betrayed them. And We gave him such treasures that the keys thereof were almost too heavy for the strongest person. His people said to him Do not become too happy, for God does not like such kind of joy.
2877 And seek with the provisions bestowed upon you by God the abode of the Hereafter, and do not forget your share in this world, and do good as God has done good to you. And do not seek corruption in the land. God does not like the corruptors.
2878 He said I have attained all this only because of my own knowledge. Did he not realize that God had annihilated before him generations that were much stronger than he, and greater in riches? The transgressors were not asked about their crimes.
2879 Then he came out among his people draped in his ornaments. Those who preferred this worldly life said Oh, if only we were given similar to what Qaroon has been given. Indeed, he is very fortunate.
2880 And those who were blessed with knowledge said Woe to you! The reward from God is far better for those who believe and do good works. And none attains it except the steadfast.
2881 We then caused the Earth to swallow him and his mansion. He had no group that could protect him against God; nor would he be victorious.
2882 And those who wished they were in his place the day before said Indeed it is God Who provides or restricts for whomever He chooses from among His servants. Had it not been for Gods grace towards us, He could have caused the Earth to swallow us as well. We now realize that the rejecters never succeed. But in the Quran, Moses people seem to be in the same land so they went from A past the sea to B then back to the land. As if Pharaoh ruled over Canaan or something.

one jew at rhe russian board told me that is Korah. didnt get that, so from the Torah we read that "Kuraish" was punished?

Ohh so the Korash guy is actually Korah. Well, I guess I screwed up. whatever
But the similairity between the two narratives are deafening.
If the Torah is that close, we can know other things too from it. Like the feast times etc.
I hope it was that simple.
-
hmm... now what ill say to them jews on that board man )
-
I think you right
this is shin in hebrew
like shalom
But, where does it say in Quran that Quraish are an arabic tribe?
This Qorah people and the temple and Quraish in Quran speaks also about the BEIT. I mean there are similarities.regards
Most Jews were Arabs. Heck the tribe Mohammed was from is called Bani-Hashem(The Name in hebrew).
What BAIT are you talking about? bethel? or the house just swallowed?
Which verses in the Torah made this connection?
peace

Salam,
In Quran sourate 106 (Y. Ali)
Bismi allahi Arrahmani Arrahimi
- For the covenants (of security and safeguard enjoyed) by the Quraish,
- Their covenants (covering) journeys by winter and summer
- Let them adore the Lord of this House (BAYT),
4.Who provides them with food against hunger, and with security against fear (of danger).
And the Korah who were the guardians of the Temple (BAYT) in the Torah
