I doubt that. However hsi topic was mostly about democracy and whether he supports Christian missionary activity in Egypt pr a Christian President. He said yes to all of them and said he want the UN human rights charter to be the law of the land in Egypt. He said he refuses hadith because the Koran is complete and that hadith were compiled during the Abbsids are many are lies. He says that Islam is peace and justice and so on. He generally says he supports secularism and freedom and believes the Azhar is influenced by Saudi wahhabism. Thats about it.

Sounds good to me too. Its good that the interviewer did not dwell too much on religious issues and asked him about political and social issues. Its a good exposure and the Koranist need every exposure they can get. He said that he supports Husni Mubarak's son to take power as long as he governes in a secular system. Its a smart move to prevent a government crackdown on him. He did good.

The common hate of radical Islam reflects a hidden repulsion to something else.
Something many people who bash radical Islam don't know that they are actually bashing it too.
