Brushing Teeth???
-
Peace Journeyman,
Ahh yes, I've been told this so many times (followed by the bad breath = musk hadith). The truth is, in fasting we are ordered to abstain from sexual intercourse, eating, and drinking. Nowhere does it say anything about abstaining from personal hygiene (although some shower-averse may argue this). Actually, I brush my teeth more during the fast than I would if I were not fasting. Even from reading the Quran we can deduce that cleanliness is next to Godliness. My opinion is brush away, just don't eat the toothpaste, no matter how tempting it may be. ;D

some 'extra'-sunnis will tell u that u cant brush your teeth in Ramadan, but i brush my teeth anyway, like TheAlinatore said, "in fasting we are ordered to abstain from sexual intercourse, eating, and drinking". Thats right, i dont love to eat toothpaste, do u? ;D

Actually, the Sunni sites I looked at said that it is OK to brush your teeth while fasting.
So brush your teeth! police -

Peace to all,
I am really paranoid about brushing my teeth. If I get up in the morning and I feel that I need to brush I do. Now my friend tells me that if I brush my teeth after Fajr that negates my fasting for the day. What if I am not swallowing anything including rinsing? I don't think God would hold it against me if I wanted to at least have minty fresh breath for the rest of the day so as not to offend anyone.
Yeah they use to keep their mouths open for birds to clean their teeth. !
