Which would you choose?

A lot of stupid crap happen to me all the time, like this college semester for example. I'm trying to purchase my textbooks online for cheaper and they take an entire week to arrive, and I couldn't purchase them before classes started since I needed to be sure exactly what they were. A week wasted = points lost = lower chances of getting desired grades = less chance of getting into desired university = probably not ending up with a decent job or having to go out of state just to continue my education. Not only that but I have to do online homework and studying for a class I can't even study and work for, because the damn technical/customer support specialists are too slow with fixing my problem. Anyone reading this may think this is a very stupid reason to hate life and they would be right. This is just an example of the kind of bs I experience nearly everyday. I bet not one person in my trigonometry class has had this issue and I do...why? Why am I the only one also who registered for this one online class late, just because I didn't know it existed until a week and a half after it started? This is the kind of nonsensical crap that occurs in my life. I could elaborate on what almost caused me to end my life last year as well. All in all life, to me is so damn undesiable. I am also (it seems) naturally pretty abnormal.
Either way I do not like the fact I was given life. This is not me being ungrateful but me in all honesty. I'm not going to lie, and I'm sure not all (or everyone who has a life) like their lives, be they rich or poor, for whatever reasons they should have, but, you don't have to have lived a happy life to go to paradise. I think you have to have a good record you'll be happy with when you're presented with it by the god.
People may brag about the afterlife and that is ok. I imagine the afterlife as a life where you get anything you want at any time, a place where everyone holds hands and say peace the whole time. It's very appealing but as of the moment, this does not make it to me that this is worth going through what I've gone through and this is assuming of course I'm even going to paradise, but yeah...no. Add to that the possiblity of ending up with the exact opposite....and I love the idea of never having existed even more, probably even an infinite times more. I see people who value their existence so much and their hoped future paradise as....somewhat greedy people. I am not greedy and I think my desire to have never even existed proves it.
God has given me good stuff though, I'll admit and am thankful for that.
Hey there,
I feel your problems. As a college student who is also an international student, believe me, it is hard. I had similar trouble concerning books. (Now I figured out that it's best to get online pdfs of required reading books, they aren't hard to find). I am now vacillating between two completely different majors with different requirements. I haven't gone to the first two classes for this semester in one of the classes for the 'other' major.
But hey, it's life, you do understand more of the way things work after being at college for a while. It helps to get like minded people who will form a study group with you and work at the same on their homework (it doesn't have to be the same course).
And one more thing, the most important lessons I learnt freshman year. The only person you can really depend on is yourself, and so you shouldn't be too hard on yourself, just take life as it comes, savor the little good that happens, and tackle every single problem individually. And write down what you need to do, even if minor, and cross it when done. It feels good.
I hope this didn't come on as too cliched. It just is true, if you apply it.
Take care,
Sarah

Well, it's worth one's while to actually feel, cause it is nice to have something you value.
But if you know that which your emotionally attached to won't be there forever then you'd rather avoid the pain of losing it in the first place dont u think??
PEACE

well obviously yes. As in someone who doesn't seem trustworthy, or a cause that seems futile. But to not try at all cause you may lose it nine times out of ten? What about the one time out of ten that you get to keep it. It seems worthwhile to me, but I think everyone is free to decide whether it is worthwhile or not.

What now Prince? Are you changing your mind? I was counting on grabbing your purse when you leave your belongings behind >(

I was referring to death. Everything here is a gift that does not belong to us, even family and relatives.

That reply reminded me of the scene in Austin Powers... "its not my bag baby!"
Anyways, I asked the question because I was curious, see what others thought, who thought like me etc. And maybe I was pondering on some questions, like the original reason for us being here. The answer "to have a life" reminds me of 3372 a little. My passion is philosophy, so I often ask myself questions like this or even more obscure ones.

I think we all ask ourselves that question once in a while

It is much better to answer it from Quran, because Allah knows of every thing

And the fact is that they will never ever incline themselves to proclaim a wish for death on account of what their hands have sent forward.
Falsfi ko Behs kay under Khuda milta nahi
dour ko suljha raha hay aur sira milta nahiAllah Ho akbar

Are never existing and wishing for death are the same thing?

You have to study the verse and the Question asked once more to see the connection, it would be better if you read the whole verse.
Let's say God exists, and what The Quran says is true, that basically you get (in the next life) what you give (in this life).
Therefore a person who opts for non existence is actually running away from the test.
And the fact is that they will never ever incline themselves to proclaim a wish for death on account of what their hands have sent forward. (this is not the whole verse)
Sirius, logic isn't Raajah's strong point.
Logic may not be my strong point but at least, unlike you I have learned to see beyond my nose! You are victim of self praise. May Allah help you.

If there was no afterlife, then wouldnt you feel awful, as you would know that it's this life and nothing else - in fact, it's only nothingness/emptiness.
"Our nada who art in nada, nada be thy name thy kingdom nada thy will be nada in nada as it is in nada. Give us this nada our daily nada and nada us our nada as we nada our nadas and nada us not into nada but deliver us from nada; pues nada . Hail nothing full of nothing, nothing is with thee." ~Earnest Hemingway, A Clean, Well-Lighted Place
- To have a life, e.g. the one you have, and take the test of this life, which you might pass (reward), or you might fail (punishment).
The only logical choice ...
?The mind is its own place, and in it self. Can make a Heaven of Hell, a Hell of Heaven.? ~John Milton, Paradise Lost

I think this world sucks. Never want to come back to this place.

Rajah, you clearly highlighted the portion of the verse you thought to be relevant to the discussion. And you still seem to think that wishing for death and never existing are the same thing. The fact is, if you never existed, then there is nothing you could have done right or wrong to warrant a 'heaven' or a 'hell' type scenario, and therefore never existing (to never have done anything that requires judgement) and wanting death due to fear of your own actions and the recompense for them, they aren't really the same.
