The best one that I know of is Mesaj Kuran Cevirisi by Edip Yuksel.
Another one you might want to buy is the one by Yasar Nuri ?zt?rk.

Respectfully. jediAsk brother Edip, i think he speaks Turkish as well.
Then again, you can also learn Turksih and translate it yourself, God willing.
Just don't travel to Turkey, & i heard they ask you about your belief system right at the border/customs.
I wanted to visit Turkey because of my ancestors but now hmm ....i'm not so sure, nope maybe later when i develope some muscles. muscle God willing. hailPeace. peace

Please do not spread things you heard which are not true or shall I say who ever told you that is lying. Turkey is a very liberal state with many religions living side by side. If you went to Turkey you would love it. As long as you do not do any criminal activities you will be fine. Many people in Turkey such a yasar Nuri Ozturk and even Edip Yuksel has been on Turkish TV talking openly about following Quran only and I havent heard them being prosecuted or arrested. Have no worries about travelling to Turkey, just worry more about their traffic as many die due to reckless and sometimes drunk drivers ;D

I was there on vacation a few years ago, no problems at all. Like others have said, it's a secular state. But, there are some crazy drivers though. D

Can anyone refer me to the best Turkish translation of the Qur'an? My hubby has one but I don't think it's a good one, has lots of extra stuff in the brackets and when I was comparing some verses with my MIL it had extra stuff in it that wasn't in my English translation. I want to get my husband a good translation, in the hopes that he'll actually read it.

Translations of Edip and Yasar Nuri are in modern Turkish and easy to read.
One of my reference points is al-Wqi`ah 36 (5636). Unfortunately, Yasar Nuri translated it as "virgin women" at heaven, Edip translated it as "made them young".
I will offer two newer translations, which translated above ayath as "virgin (not touched) beauties at heaven". One is Mustafa Sag translation but it is somehow hard to find. Other is Hakki Yilmaz translation / explanation at www.istekuran.net web site (but unfortunately it has covered 74 / 114 ayaths so far.
Your husband may go with Edip's or Yasar Nuri's translations but in that case, it will be better to also read supportive content from web.
I'm sending my msn address as pm to you, add me, i may send Yasar Nuri translation in word format or may supply additional information.

lolol true. I live in the US. I looked at Amazon and didn't see it.... maybe I wasn't searching with the correct terms. The reason I wanted a book version was he doesn't read too much online. Thanks for the quranix website, I like that one. )

Yes, I think so. I have two.. one very small and one middle sized. This one seems bigger.

There are very few Christians in Turkey. In Egypt and Syria there are millions. The truth is that Christians are much better off in some other Muslim countries. If I were a Christian, I would definitely prefer to live in Iran than in Turkey. Also, it's a fact that ethnic and linguistic minorities are better off in Iran than in Turkey. Very few Turks seem to know this.

where's your evidence for this, if this is not your biased verdict?
i personally know Christians, Jehovas Witnesses, have Jews in my neighbourhood and they live their lives as they want. There is an international retirement migration to Turkey as well, more than 200,000 people had residence permits as of residence permits as of March 2007. For the past 30 years or so I have been visiting Turkey I have not seen anything to give me the impression that minorities have a hard time. My family is a minority there as they are arab rooted Turks. They first learned arabic before they went to school to learn Turkish besides them being born in turkey. They have not been in anyway treated differently. I can accept that you may see isolated racism but that probably happens in any country, it is not exclusive to Turkey. As for Iran being a better place to reside in, mate what are you on? Have you seen the scenes there recently? Anyways, your opinion is your opinion but let me tell you that Turkey is probably the only muslim majority country that has a big population of jewish people living there, does that say anything to you?
