studies of other animals don't apply to humans. Our closest relatives, bonobos and chimpanzees are promiscuous. Monogamy isn't something that comes naturally to all people, to some it comes more naturally than others. And yes, monogamous love/marriage is supported and encouraged by most religions, but not all, just look at Hinduism and Mormonism.

Yes, the video is much more to the point than the text!
It's very clear stuff. When people have casual sex, their hormones are saying "Great, a partner I have have and raise children with!" but their minds are saying "Great, another notch in the belt, let's do this and move on". It's like a kind of schizophrenia. All that surprises me is that it is taking so long for them pin down these affects. It just shows how much harder scientists find it to understand human beings than our natural environment.
