Forgiven for Past Year and the Next?!?!?!?
-
Peace everyone,
I am totally confounded to where this came from. My friend said there is some random night known only to God that is somewhere between the 20th of Ramadan (per Islamic Calender) and the 22nd. On this night if you wake up around 1 am to pray and read Quran continuously until 5 am then God will forgive all your sins for the past year and the next coming year. What the..? Please has anyone heard this? confused

This is most likely due to a hadith which is baseless and fabricated. There is nothing in the only significant source (the book of God) saying this. In fact a lot of hadith are similar to this. Hell there is one in Sunan (or whatever the heck his name is) where it is literally saying each time you say "subhanallah, walhamdulilla, walaillaha illalah, walahu akbar" forgives a sin (so that is 4 of my sins forgiven just now laugh and there's even an article ridiculously taking this garbage and it's titled "Erase 2500 Sins A Day in Less than 15 Minutes". http//youthmatters.wordpress.com/2009/04/12/erase-2500-sins-a-day-in-less-than-15-minutes/ (lol just commented)
Uttering some words by itself means nothing. Not even in this alleged hadith is it saying you have to MEAN it while saying it, but of course since we have scholars (gods) to interpret this how they want to and we must wait until they form a general consensus to receive our religion, we are no different than Christians and Jews relying on our priests and rabbi's to go to the artifical heaven of transparent chalk white people and boobs (hey, it's what they're looking forward to).
This kind of teaching stems from nothing but what God mentioned in 316 as nonsensical talk. No, it is not referring to music. The only thing saying this is the nonsensical narrations themselves.

I've heard about this too. It kinda comes from "The night of destiny is better than one thousand months" verse. So they say by staying up on this night and doing good deeds and reading the Quran, these deeds will be worth a lot more than if they're done on any other day. Dunno!
