            This interpretation is probably based on 434 and the use of "qawwamoon", often translated as "supporters/maintainers". It could also be based on other verses, such as

            Males have a natural wider duty of care than females, however that doesn't mean it is fixed roles for male and females.

            All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

              I disagree, just look at how a female cares for a child compared to a male

                    I think you have misunderstood me. By males having a natural "wider duty of care" I meant "wider duty of responsibility" than females, when it comes to providing for the family/household. For example, when wife is pregnant, or suckles the child etc, see the verses referenced in previous post.
