    Chapter 19 Maryam (Verses 1 to 35)

    JOHN?s story

    1. K.H?.Y.A?.S?,
    2. a reminder of your Lord?s mercy to His servant Zachariah.
    3. When he called out to his Lord secretly.

    Zachariah
    4. ?My Lord, my bones have gone frail, and my hair has turned white, and I have never been mischievous in calling to You my Lord.?
    5. ?And I fear the kinfolk after I am gone, and my wife is infertile, so grant me from Yourself an ally.?
    6. ?To inherit from me, and inherit from the descendants of Jacob. And make him my Lord, well pleasing.?

    God
    7. ?O Zachariah, We give you glad tidings of a son whose name is John. We have not given that name before to anyone.?

    Zachariah
    8. ?My Lord, how can I have a son when my wife is infertile, and I have reached a very old age??

    God
    9. ?It is such that your Lord has said. It is an easy thing for Me. And I had created you before when you were not even anything.?

    Zachariah
    10. ?My Lord, make for me a sign.?
God ?Your sign is that you will not speak to the people for three nights consecutively.?

    1. So Zachariah went out amongst his people from the temple enclosure, and he indicated to them that they should glorify Him at dawn and dusk.

    God
    12. ?O John, take the Scripture with confidence.? And We (God) gave him authority while in his youth. (SABIY)
    13. And he had kindness from Us and purity, and he was ever righteous.
    14. And dutiful to his parents, and never was he a tyrant or disobedient.
    15. And peace be upon him the day he was born, and the day he dies, and the Day he is resurrected alive.

    Message dispatcher

    (MARY and JOHN)?s story

    1. And relate in the Scripture Mary, when she withdrew herself from her family to a place which was to the east.

    2. She took to a barrier which separated her from them, so We dispatced Our spirit(Wahi) to her, and he(the messenger = John) gave the example of a perfect human to her.

    3. Mary said ?I seek refuge with the Almighty from you if you are a person of faith.?

    4. John said ?I am the messenger of your Lord, to grant you the gift of a pure son.?

    5. Mary said ?How can I have a son when no man has touched me, nor do I desire such??

    6. John said ?It is such that your Lord has said, it is easy for Me. And We(Mary and John) shall make him a sign for mankind and a mercy from Us. It is a matter already ordained.?

    7. So she was pregnant to him(Jesus), and she went to deliver in a far place with John.

    8. Then the birth pains came to her, by the trunk of a palm tree. Mary said ?I wish I had died before this, and became totally forgotten!?

    9. But then John called to her from beneath her ?Do not be sad, your Lord has made below you a stream.?

    10. ?And shake the trunk of this palm tree, it will cause ripe dates to fall upon you.?

    11. ?So eat and drink and be happy. If you see any human being, then Say ?I have declared a fast for the Almighty, and I will not talk today to any of mankind.??

    12. Then Mary came to her people with John carrying Jesus. They said ?O Mary, you have come with something totally unexpected!?

    13. ?O sister of Aaron, your father was not a bad man, and your mother was never unchaste!?

    14. So she pointed to John. They said ?How can we talk to someone who is a child in a cradle??

    15. John said ?I am God?s servant, He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet.?

    16. ?And He made me blessed wherever I was, and He charged me with the contact-method and towards betterment as long as I am alive.? ?And to be dutiful to my mother, and He did not make me a rebellious tyrant.?

    17. ?And peace be upon me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the Day I am resurrected alive.? (1915 And peace be upon him the day he was born, and the day he dies, and the Day he is resurrected alive)

    18. Such was Jesus, the son of Mary, and this is the truth of the matter in which they doubt.

    19. God was never to take a son, be He glorified. If He decrees a matter, then He simply says to it ?Be,? and it is.

    20. And God is my Lord and your Lord, so serve Him. This is a straight path.

      Peace Tlepsh,

This is a pretty interesting concept... So, what's your opinion concerning the gospel accounts, where Jesus is referred to as the "son of Joseph"?

I suppose it depends on which John you are talking about. If you are talking about John the Baptist then he was only 6month to a year older than Jesus

I do not know much concerning the gospel accounts.

The Biblical gospel accounts imply that Jesus was the son of Joseph, a Jewish carpenter. John (i.e. "The Baptist&quot, the son of Zechariah, is considered to be Jesus' cousin; he was the son of Elizabeth, the sister of Mary. According to the gospel of Matthew, Mary conceived Jesus while Elizabeth was still pregnant with John, making the two pretty close in age, less than a year apart.

Actually he was a second-cousin to Jesus as Mary and Elizabeth were cousins (supposedly)

                                      Peace,

Prophet Yahya was given Al-Kitab and ?Hukm? with confidence when he was young (sabiy). He became a messenger of Allah when he was a young man.

God sent to Mary (his ruh = wahiy) by a messenger who was present at that time. This messenger married Mary. There were two messenger at that time Zakariya and Yahya. Zakariya was old and already married.

When Mary pointed to her husband to speak for her, her people said ?How can we talk to someone who is a child in a cradle?? They were to swollen with pride to discus the matter with such a young man.

So the only messenger came to Mary to marry her should be YAHYA.

                                        Interesting view 'm considering this.

I am having issues with a couple of things, however.

Your rendition of 1929 doesn't make sense (john is not the child), could you further clarify

                                        1. So she pointed to John. They said ?How can we talk to someone who is a child in a cradle??

                                        2. John said ?I am God?s servant, He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet.?

I do think child is a mistranslation. Sabiyyan = young man; same word from 1912.

How do you understand the accusation in 1927-28?

                                          Peace,

                                          Interesting view 'm considering this.

I am having issues with a couple of things, however.

Your rendition of 1929 doesn't make sense (john is not the child), could you further clarify

I do think child is a mistranslation. Sabiyyan = young man; same word from 1912.

How do you understand the accusation in 1927-28?

                                          Thanks.

                                          Peace Jack,

Yes you are right ?child? is a mistranslation ?Sabiyyan? means ?young man?

343-45 ?O Mary, be devoted to your Lord and obey him and be humble with those who are humble.?
This is from the news of the unseen that We inspire to you. You were not with them when they drew straws as to which one of them will be charged with Mary; you were not with them when they disputed and the Angels said ?O Mary, God gives good news of a word from Him. His name is the Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary. Honourable in this world and in the Hereafter, and from among those who are made close.?

Mary learned that the people of the temple drew straws as to which one of them will be charged with her. And she knew that they disputed. In my opinion that is why Mary She took to a barrier which separated her from them. And in my opinion that is the main reason of their accusation. They accused her because she did not listen to them and she run away.

                                          On the other hand,
Verses 2189 to 91 are one sentence.

2189-91 And Zachariah when he called out to his Lord ?My Lord, do not leave me without an heir, and You are the best inheritor.? So We responded to him, and We cured his wife and We granted him Yahya, and they used to hasten to do good, and they(Zakariya-his wife-his son) would call to Us in joy and in fear and to Us they were reverent, and the one who ?ahsanat? her ?farj?, so We blew into her from Our ?ruh?, and We made her and her son a sign for the worlds.

We granted him Yahya and the one who ?ahsanat? her ?farj?. Yahya as a son (and as a prophet) and Mary as her son?s wife to bring a grand son (another prophet) to Zakariya. In my oppinion, Yahya and his son Isa are Zakariya's offspring. That ?s how God responded to him.
