For the record, I was not even given a pm as to how or why I was banned, which is sad.
What "weather report"? I just linked you to the definition of "wtf". I'd like to know what rule this breaks. This should be good...

Don't recall warnings for that. Also, you're not one to talk as you've been off-topic for the last 4 posts. rotfl

Nothing says it's bad to make fun of hadith and sunna. Munzir, Progressive, afridi, Alen and many others laugh at many hadith. They're hilarious, so it's not anyone's fault.

Reword in understandable English please.

Warnings were not even according to the literal rules from the rules page. Nothing in the rules says "simply having bad words in posts is forbidden", so get familiar with them. Not that they matter since only interpretations of mods (which they do not reveal to the public) are enforced.

Didn't he make most of those off-topic posts in the "off-topic section"? Plus, one of the moderators cautioned everyone about deleted posts, because it seemed as if nearly EVERYONE was making off-topic posts, not just Meteora. If deleting the posts was the penalty for violating that stipulation, then that shouldn't have had anything to do with his being banned.
-
I agree that we shouldn't make fun of hadiyth and sunna; but many other people do it too, and none of them get banned for it. There should be an equal standard for everyone... In my opinion, everyone deserves respect, so we should be tactful when posting our views regarding other sects of Islaam. But that leads to the issues pertaining to other groups. Why is there no penalty for all the blatantly disrespectful threads and posts about the so-called "19ers" (International Submitters) and slander against Rashad Khalifa?
-
laugh I kind of agree with you on this one too. However, he does "bleep" out most of his curse words, and he doesn't direct them toward anyone, especially not in an insulting or provoking fashion. And I've never seen him post anything like "OMFG" on here, but I could be wrong.
-
He said he wasn't given any warnings, he was simply "surprised" with a BAN. Even if he did violate certain forum rules, I think he should be told why he was banned, and he should actually be given advance warning of an upcoming (potential) ban, so perhaps he can correct his behavior that violates the rules.

It is good that you point out the problems with the hadith and sunnah. but you do it with the wrong attitude http//i149.photobucket.com/albums/s68/MJOLNIR_VII/RidingSunna.gif which is not good for the image of this forum. That kind of attitude reminds me of this Indian fable
A king, while visiting his wives' apartments, took a monkey from a neighboring stable for a pet. He kept him constantly close at hand for his amusement, for as it is said, parrots, partridges, doves, rams, monkeys, and such creatures are a king's natural companions.
It goes without saying that the monkey, fed on the various dishes that the king gave him, grew large and was given respect by all who surrounded the king. Indeed, the king, due to his love and exceeding trust of the monkey, even gave him a sword to carry.
In the vicinity of the palace the king had a grove artfully planted with many trees of various sorts. Early in the springtime the king noticed how beautiful the grove was. Its blossoms exuded a magnificent fragrance, while swarms of bees sang praise to the god of love. Thus overcome by love, he entered the grove with his favorite wife. He ordered all his servants to wait for him at the entrance.
After having pleasantly strolling through and observing the grove, he grew tired and said to his monkey, "I want to sleep a little while in this arbor of flowers. Take care that nothing disturbs me!" Having said this, the king fell asleep.
Presently a bee, pursuing the aroma of the flowers, betel, and musk, flew up and lit on his head. Seeing this, the monkey thought angrily, "What is this? Am I to allow this common creature to bite the king before my very eyes?"
With that he proceeded to drive it away. However, in spite of the monkey's defense, the bee approached the king again and again. Finally, blinded by anger, the monkey drew his sword and struck down the bee with a single blow. However, the same blow also split the king's head.
The queen, who was sleeping next to the king jumped up in terror. Seeing the crime, she said, "Oh, oh, you foolish monkey! What have you done to the king who placed such trust in you?"
The monkey explained how it had happened, but thereafter he was shunned and scorned by everyone. Thus it is said, "Do not choose a fool for a friend, for the king was killed by a monkey."
And I say, "It is better to have a clever enemy than a foolish friend."

That was what I thought the possible reasons behind his ban. peace

So what are you two saying, that although not including vulgar language in posts all of a sudden now abbreviations are bad? typing wtf is against the rules?
- promoting sports and christianity on every other thread such as
a. wtf - World Taekwondo Federation
b. OMFG - Oh My Father God.- Ignoring warnings.
etc.
At first I thought you were kidding about not knowing what the abbr. are. For this reason I doubt you're very familiar with foruming and the internet in general.
There is also NOTHING wrong with my avatar, genius. If it was so bad, why wasn't it and the one I had before for MORE THAN A WEEK removed yet? Try to answer that while having to hypocritically be off-topic as well. In addition you were also the one who started going off-topic, here in your own thread. http//i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg179/Final_Fantasy_Ultimania/srsly.gif
And someone here is right, I DO censor bad words. Pretty much the only time I didn't was when I was responding to sunni lectures because they were close to 100% idol worship and it pissed me off, and that was back then. Show me one time in the last days after my arbitrary ban that I didn't censor a curse word, just one.
-
On-topic, I think the advantage is that it doesn't make people have to first click on a link and see the video in another tab/window. Like I am that lazy, and I'd prefer clicking a play button.
Back to the earlier discussion Ahmad was right about yet another thing. Right before the ban I made off-topic posts in the off-topic section. They were deleted nonetheless for no reason and then the ban was delievered. Not sure if it had anything to do with the fact the topics were about some wierd username someone made and simply asking if someone remembered the porn thread some idiot made like a month back.
Many forums do not have the embedding feature. I think they should have at least one for youtube. Youtube is the most popular video uploading site afaik.

Meteora was banned due to foul language (rule 3). We were quiet liberal when it came to his OT posts.
If he logged in (while he was still banned) a message would be displayed stating the reasons for said banning.
He also seems to live in denial, as he is still using foul language after his reinstatement

In future, please try to seek clarification through PM. Thanks !
