    Peace

I would prefer a positive article written on the devine books, showing the message of peace and highlighting to us positive examples to follow to better ourselves and understand each other. Maybe through this effort people can see that our ultimate goal is the same and God is one.

May God lead us in the right path.

    Peace

    Hope

PS. Great thinking Rev.John, I nominate you for the nobel peace prize bravo

Thank you, thank you. I would like to thank my family and friends for all their support and Hope for this nomination ..........

This is taken out of context, and it is NOT saying that the Torah has been tampered with or fabricated...

The word "Torah" is used in many ways throughout the Tanakh, and it's not always referring to the law of Moses. So, you can eliminate this easily. However, even regarding the translation, based on the rest of the context throughout the entire book of Jeremiah, it talks about the 'pen of the scribes being in vain', and referring to it as a "lying pen" is a misinterpretation... There's nothing in the Tanakh or the Qur'aan that implies that the Torah, as in the law of Moses, has been corrupted.

The Jeremiah 88 verse in Hebrew
Eichah tomeru chacha mim a nachnu ve TOVRAT YHVH ittanu achen hinneh la SHEKER asah et SHEKER soferim.

      Translated word by word
How say are wise we and TOVRAT YHVH? For certainty behold! the SHEKER has made pen SHEKER scribes.

SHEKER (Hebrew) deception, deceit, falsehood, liar.

      Translated / Interpreted In English
How (do you) say we are wise (as we have) TOVRAT YHVH? For certainty behold it has been made as SHEKER/lies/deceit (through) the SHEKER/lying/deceitful pen (of the) scribes.

      Salam / Peace

Another example of refutation still from the book of Jeremiah.

For I DID NOT speak unto your fathers nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt concerning BURNT OFFERINGS OR SACRIFICES!
But this thing I commanded them saying OBEY MY VOICE! and I WILL BE YOUR GOD and ye shall be my people and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you that it may be well unto you.
        Jeremiah 722-23

And you can find many verses regarding Burnt Offerings / Incense in the book of Leviticus and Exodus.. considered as part of TOVRAH.

        Salam / Peace

          Dear John,

This is my first Dear John letter (sorry I couldnt resist that one).

I think a book which compiles the concordant teachings of the Quran, the Bible, the Tanakh and really, every other book claiming to be a religious and philosophical should be written up. Great idea.

However, as a Quranist, I would caution against one thing that the reader be given a caveat that reading fragments of the Quran taken out to make up that concordance isn't the same as reading the Quran as a raw text. The Quran is in a protected, codified system (kitaabun maknoon - 56/7 and reading out of this protected systematic reading will simply yield 'false' results. Traditional Islam been doing it for millenia.

I'm not bias regarding TANAKH / Bible..

This is my 'current' favorite verses, I discover this during the fasting month of ramadhan that just passed this year..
Regarding the 'true fasting' as demanded by God.. or in this case YHVH.

Why have we fasted,' they say, 'and you have not seen it?
Why have we humbled ourselves, and you have not noticed?'
Yet on the day of your fasting, you do as you please and exploit all your workers.

Your fasting ends in quarreling and strife, and in striking each other with wicked fists.
You cannot fast as you do today and expect your voice to be heard on high.

Is this the kind of fast I have chosen, only a day for a man to humble himself?
Is it only for bowing one's head like a reed and for lying on sackcloth and ashes?
Is that what you call a fast, a day acceptable to YHVH ?

Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen
to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?

Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter?
when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?

            Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the YHVH will be your rear guard.

            Then you will call, and YHVH will answer;
you will cry for help, and he will say Here am I.
If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk,
and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,
then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.

YHVH will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail.

            Isaiah 583-11

            Salam / Peace

As I said, a better translation of "sheker" refers to vanity, not necessarily lies or deceit. Other passages in the Book of Jeremiah give the same impression (i.e. Jeremiah 3).

What are the thoughts about producing a new book containing all the parts of the Tanakh, Bible and Quran that agree?

John, if you study the endnotes of the Quran a Reformist Translation, you will see extensive, if not comprehensive, comparision among the three books.

I hope we will have a group of people that understand Arabic, Aramic, and Hebrew in order for us to study the Original Books and not the Translations.

I think it would be essential to go by the earliest books we can find in Hebrew, Greek, Arabic etc.

I agree. Let me know how do you want to start about this project.
I believe, the Arabic Version of Quran, The Aramic of Bible, and the Hebrew of Old Testament (OT) should be the ones we should be focusing on.

I think we should start by examining the Hebrew Old Testemant against the Arabic Quran.
We need someone who speaks Hebrew, and someone who can compile the results of this examination.

Here is a possible link to the Hebrew OT http//www.mechon-mamre.org/p/pt/pt0101.htm

                                          Peace,
                                          Respectfully.

I believe we must first and foremost tlak about this, if this will become a relaity. It's not like puting a house together with elements from different locations of the world, right?

I've spoken to several Christians and some Jewish and we do agree on certain issues like Ten Commandments and messenger/prophet Ibraheem/Abraham receiving a son from a barren son, when angels visited them and Noah living 950 years and flood coming, The Joseph story and Moses with the staff and splitting the sea by permission of God and so on.

We still disagree regarding the crucifixion, I.D., of messenger/prophet Jesus and similar stuff. I think we must first see and tlak about the things that these three Books agree on and then we can start thinking about installing all three Books as The Law.

We don't have to put all three Books in the same unit and i'd say it's better if we don't, because The Bible says in the end not to add anything, even though The Quran confirms it but The Quran also tells us it is perfect and fully detailed, 6114.

I say we just install one of the Books as The Law. I say we make one of these Books as The Law of the country we're part of, whaddaya say?

                                          Peace.
