        1. Say ?I do not say to you that I posses God?s treasures, nor do I know the future, nor do I say to you that I am an Angel. I merely follow what is inspired to me.? Say ?Are the blind and the seer the same?; do you not think??

        Peace

          1. Say ?I do not posses for myself any benefit or harm, except what God wills. And if I could know the future, then I would have increased my good fortune, and no harm would have come to me. I am but a warner and a bearer of good news to a people who believe.?

              salam alykum

you know what I just thought about ? ONe of the main claims that i was told as a chrisitan who was given dawah was about the commonality of islam and chrisitnity in their beleif of the second coming of christ and also dawah given by the shias to myself about the "mahdi" but I never realized that the quran contradicted thise statments so it is definitely much clearer how sunnism and shism views differ so much from the real islam of the quran

woow very intersting any one have any more interesting facts to point out difference or contradictions inshallah

Thanks for that. I looked "Mahdi" from Bukhari/Muslim/Sunan Abu Dawud/Malik's Muwatta... and I could only find the subject mentioned by Sunan Abu Dawud. I find this very strange, considering the elaborate stories I've heard about this guy, not to mention, people are actually waiting for him. roll I just thought there would be some mention in all 'sahih hadith'. Anyway, this is what I found -

                The Promised Deliverer (Kitab Al-Mahdi)

                Book 36, Number 4269
                Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud
The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said If only one day of this world remained. Allah would lengthen that day (according to the version of Za'idah), till He raised up in it a man who belongs to me or to my family whose father's name is the same as my father's, who will fill the earth with equity and justice as it has been filled with oppression and tyranny (according to the version of Fitr). Sufyan's version says The world will not pass away before the Arabs are ruled by a man of my family whose name will be the same as mine.

                Book 36, Number 4271
                Narrated Umm Salamah, Ummul Mu'minin
The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said The Mahdi will be of my family, of the descendants of Fatimah. Abdullah ibn Ja'far said I heard AbulMalih praising Ali ibn Nufayl and describing his good qualities.

                Book 36, Number 4272
                Narrated AbuSa'id al-Khudri

The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said The Mahdi will be of my stock, and will have a broad forehead a prominent nose. He will fill the earth will equity and justice as it was filled with oppression and tyranny, and he will rule for seven years.

Perhaps someone else can find something? ?

And this is the famous one about Jesus.

                  Volume 3, Book 34, Number 425
                  Narrated Abu Huraira

Allah's Apostle said, "By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, son of Mary (Jesus) will shortly descend amongst you people (Muslims) as a just ruler and will break the Cross and kill the pig and abolish the Jizya (a tax taken from the non-Muslims, who are in the protection, of the Muslim government). Then there will be abundance of money and no-body will accept charitable gifts.

                    .
Most of what is on this tread about the Mahdi
comes from hadiths. How about what is in the
                    Qur'an about it
The 23 initials up to chapter 13 (Rad)
totalise 1267ah. This is the hijra year when the
jugement was completed by the Bab. If you are
a bit smart, you will realize that on verse 23, the
name of the messenger is there. (= bab).

At the end of Chapter 13 you are at verse number 1748.
                    Because 1748 = 19 x 92, it simply means that after
what is prophecised in this chapter occurs, in 1267ah,
the muhammadian (92) chapter closes down.
                    It is simple as A B C.

                    friendly yours
                    Majnun.

Imam Mahdi is a kind of Shia legend which eventually was absorbed into the rest of Islam.

"When Jafar al-Sadiq, the sixth Imam died (765), a disputed succcession produced a split between the Isma'ili and Imami Shi'ites. The Isma'ilis claimed that Jafar had appointed his older Son, Isma'il, as his successor; and that, since he died before Jafar, the rightful Imam was Isma'ils son, Muhammad ibn Isma'il. He would return one day as Mahdi, the Rightly guided one who would redress wrongs and fill the earth with justice. After their eleventh Imam died , the Imamis came to believe that his successor, Muhammad al-Mahdi - the 12th Imam - had gone into hiding and would from now on communicate with his followers through secret representatives. This 'lesser absence' lasted until 941. The Imamis then declared that he had gone into permanent hiding. He would return at the end of the time as Mahdi - Redresser-of-wrongs to establish justice and equality. Hence the belief in the Hiddent Twelfth Imam, which has lasted to this day." - The History of Islamic Political Thought From the Prophet ot the Present, Antony Black, pg 39-40

If it is just a "legend" , how come the Gospel
mentions it as 1260, spelled out in Revelations 113
                        and elsewhere ?
How come the same event is mentioned in the Quran
by the same exact hegira year (1260, 1267) ?
And after all, why should we care about blind people.

Hey what I just posted there was history. The legend, no more like myth, of Imam Mahdi is a result of midieval Islamic faction political mumbo jumbo. If you want to believe in Revelations, thats fine go ahead, but Revelations itself is so fabricated its not even funny. If you are Christian, I can understand you believing in Revelations, but if you are a Muslim, then you might as well accept that Jesus was the son of God.

                            .
I understand. How can we say the old and the new testament are ? fabricated ? or
even tampered, while the Qur?an validates them a authentic? How can we deny
verse 2247 that give the length of the Quoranic revelation as good for 1000 years ?
The thousand years is over now. I find quite strange that the religious gestapo of
some countries still ban the baha?is writings, depriving the people.

The Quran verifies that there were previous scriptures sent down to Moses, David, and Jesus, but does it say that the Bible as we have it today is perfect? No. Infact it says the opposite. It says that the people invented laws, it says that the people differed after the revelation had been sent, it says the people hid the truth behind their backs. If you believe in the Quran, then you can't hold the Bible to be 100% accurate because with certain laws/stories the two books contradict. Point being, if you believe in the Quran then you cannot think that the Bible is correct in every corner. This is especially true with the New Testament which is no more than opinions in letters, fabricated prophecies from Pauls Christ, and hadith like gospels.

When it comes to Imam Mahdi, its clear that it was wishful tale of the Shias which was later absorbed into Sunnism. Its a historical fact that this concept was invented by 13th century shia politicians, so will you deny that and continue to believe some miracle man is going to walk out of a cave and save us?

Its interesting to note that even though this is such a late development in Islam, it is still put into the mouth of the Prophet and recorded in the hadith.

Just to throw in some facts, not all parts of the Bible are endorsed by the Qur'an, only the Torah (Musa), Psalms (David), and Gospels (Jesus). And even these three are problematic, and the Qur'an corrects them (i.e. revising Genesis). Revelation does not count, of course.

And to add to that, I wouldn't really say that the Injeel of Isa mentioned in the Quran is the Gospels of the NT. Gospels are more like stories about Jesus in certain communities that were later compiled into seperate books.

Is the Injeel of Isa about him? Very unlikely.

This is perfect! This fits my ideas that i've posted briefly in the Jinn = Reptilian post.

The way i see it, many prophecies about a "saviour" coming at some End Time moment are fabricated. I don't know if anyone is familiar with the novel Dune by Frank Herbert, but basically you have a mysterious/religious Order whose factions implant prophecies in less developed societies in case they would need to call upon them sometime in the future in order to take control of that society. This is pre-planning on a GRAND scale..conspiracy galore.

What we have here could very well be something similar. Secret societies, Jinn, Illuminati or whatever... have implanted these prophecies in major religions and are fulfilling them themselves so that many will be fooled into following them and submitting to their New World Order which is a very real event in the coming years. Nothing like a worldwide tyrannical government to give a proper sense of "peace and order". Manipulate/create world events in order to make people see whatis not their in prophecy and voila! presto! fulfillment.

Massiach of the Jews, Jesus' Second Coming and our own Mahdi may very well be the counterfeits that ppl will blindly follow because all these prophecies have crept into the mainstream of major belief systems.

Yet...i cannot help myself but believe in some sort of actual coming world conflict that will destroy many..but that there will be Divine intervention of some sort...sigh

                                        Assalam-O-Alicum

The Quran tell us about past, present, and as well as future any Ayat which tell us about past is also tell us about present and future if you read and think and apply the Ayat in proper Era.

In Allah?s presence, all time is one. Future, past, and present are experienced all at once. In some verses, the events of the Day of Judgment, Hell and Paradise are related as if they have already taken place. The following verses are an example of this
The Trumpet is blown, and all who are in the heavens and all who are on Earth swoon away, save him whom Allah wills. Then it is blown a second time, and behold them standing waiting! And Earth shone with the light of her Lord, the Book is set up, the Prophets and the witnesses are brought, and it is judged between them with truth. They are not wronged. (Surat az-Zumar 68-69)

Muffhum of One hadith about Imam Mahdi (RA) Rasullullah peace be upon Him tell about "Rulling Era of Iman Mahdi (RA) will be Like the Rulling Eras of Dhu?l-Qarnayn (as) and Hazrat Prophet Sulayman's (as)."

So if you read about Hazrat Dhu?l-Qarnayn (as) and Hazrat Prophet Sulayman's (as) in Quran and also apply prophecies of Rasullullah peace be upon him about Iman Mahdi (RA) and End of Time to it then may be you are able to see Era of Imam Mahdi (RA).

                                          Peace Kalo,

Perhaps you haven't noticed that us regulars of FM do not accept hadiths, and so we don't accept the extra Quranic concept of Imam Mahdi.

                                          Anyway, welcome to the forum.
