Why on earth was this Masjid facing east in India and during the life time of the prophet supposedly?
Cheraman Juma Masjid is a mosque in Kodungallur in the Indian state of Kerala. Believed to be built in 629 AD by Malik Bin Deenar, it is considered as the oldest mosque in India, and the second oldest mosque in the world to offer Jumu'ah prayers. Constructed during the lifetime of Muhammad, the bodies of some of his original followers are said to be buried here. Unlike other mosques in Kerala that face westwards this mosque faces eastwards.
Mind none of the early Masjids face Macca!

I don't trust archeological so-called 'evidence'. How do we know that his followers are buried there? We don't have any of the sahaba's DNA to acquire forensic evidence, do we? Archeological evidence is always spoken for, it never speaks for itself. Hence, it's subjective.
However, IF this is true, it would be a coincidence with the fact that the Quran never mentions salat as a ritual.

It didn't actually say they "were" buried there, is said that they are "said" to be buried there, in other words they don't really know.
