    Peace to all,

I have the following question to anyone would like to help.

    • First of all, in the begining as majority of muslims I was taking as granted Bible (OT+NT) was corrupted!
The only reason behind that is mainly because of the following

    • Bible do give very bad images of some prophete (Lot having sex with his daughter, Salomon became an associator and bad ruler at the end of his life, etc etc)

    • The form, how Bible is written, regarding the Reading, it is clearly man made, e.g. too many details, the genealogy of prophete etc etc

    • Some contradictions with the Reading
      etc etc

    • After some search in the Reading, I changed my mind cause in the Reading it was never said Torah and/or Injil were corrupted, and prophete had them "between his hands".
Also because some christians argued that why God will protect only the Reading and not all his books? Do you think God will not protect his books?
And I came to the conclusion that Torah and Injeel are usually bad translated as we experience with the Reading, and maybe that is why there are contradictions with the Reading.

    • But now after I found this verse in the Reading, I am re-examining my view.
      2102
      Yusuf Ali
They followed what the evil ones gave out (falsely) against the power of Solomon; the blasphemers were not Solomon but the evil ones, teaching men magic and such things as came down at Babylon to the angels Harut, and Marut. But neither of these taught anyone (such things) without saying "We are only for trial; so do not blaspheme." They learned from them the means to sow discord between man and wife. But they could not thus harm anyone except by Allah's permission. And they learned what harmed them not what profited them. And they knew that the buyers of (magic) would have no share in the happiness of the Hereafter. And vile was the price for which they did sell their souls, if they but knew!

    Shakir
And follow that which the devils falsely related against the kingdom of Solomon. Solomon disbelieved not; but the devils disbelieved, teaching mankind magic and that which was revealed to the two angels in Babel, Harut and Marut. Nor did they (the two angels) teach it to anyone till they had said We are only a temptation, therefore disbelieve not (in the guidance of Allah). And from these two (angles) people learn that by which they cause division between man and wife; but they injure thereby no-one save by Allah's leave. And they learn that which harmeth them and profiteth them not. And surely they do know that he who trafficketh therein will have no (happy) portion in the Hereafter; and surely evil is the price for which they sell their souls, if they but knew.

Versus the Bible (king James version) Kings 113-->1111

3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines and his wives turned away his heart.

4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.

5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.

6 And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.

7 Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.

8 And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.

9 And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,

10 And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.

11 Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.

In regards of this I conluded what the Reading said "...which the devils falsely related against the kingdom of Solomon", the Bible is corrupted of what the devils falsely related.

Can we take the Bible as source of Law?

    Peace

      Peace herbman,
The Quran does not mention the bible at all.
They are Torah and Gospel (Injeel) who are mentioned.
Allah even talks about Ahl Al Injeel (the followers of the Injeel) who should be guided by it...
It is debatable what are the parts of the Bible which constitute the Books Allah in the Quran refers to
      for us to believe in.
But what is for sure, The Torah, The Gospel and The Psalms of David are included, and at least at the time
of the Quran Revelation were acceptable scriptures as Allah referred to the People of the Book needing to judge by
      them in the present tense.
The Torah is pretty well preserved I think...
The Gospel original i.e. Gospel of Jesus must be somewhere, it has to be in my opinion well hidden on earth, and probably copies
of it have been destroyed for obvious reasons by the interested parties during the settlement of Christianity and Sectarian Islam.
One can take this as conspiracy theory, but The Quran is enough as witness that if there is Ahl Al Injeel, there has to be an Al Injeel...
      Allah knows...

        Salam herbman,
The quran as we know is a book of truth and yhat which differentiate the truth from falsehood, Allah says indeed we send the remembrance and we will surely guard it. the torah and injeel are also revealed by God and well guarded by Him. It will be blasphemous to think God did not preserve the to preceding books before alquran and there by they are corrupt. who so ever is of the view that the injeel (the four gospel) is corrupted or the jewish torah, then he should come up with answers to the following.

        1. when was the torah and gospel corrupted? is it before or after muhammad?
        2. who corrupted them was it the jew or the christian? though the are not in good terms with each other.
3)how was it corrupted? was it through translation or how.
But we must not forget 2267 For every nation We have established rites which they are to
fulfill. So do not let the matter fall into dispute. And call upon your Lord,
for you are on a guidance which is straight.

Bible as the source of Law? I don't see the sixty-six books of the Bible equating the Torah and the Evangel.

You have pointed out the case of Solomon, and there are others, and the collection does not inspire confidence.
