Quotes about Christianity

A very good find indeed!
Many of those are also applicable to Islam or other sectarian group.Take this one (I replace every "christian" with "Islam / Moslem"
Mahatma Gandhi
"It is impossible for me to reconcile myself to the idea of conversion after the style that goes on in India and elsewhere today. It is an error which is perhaps the greatest impediment to the world's progress toward peace ... Why should a Moslem want to convert a Hindu to Islam? Why should he not be satisfied if the Hindu is a good or godly man?"Salam / Peace

I foun the following link that contains disturbing quotes about Christianity
http//www.burningcross.net/crusades/famous-quotes-christianity.html
Most of these quotes were not about Christianity exclusively. Most were about religions generally. I have to say, I agree with many of them.

Agree rev.john.. those quotes are wisdom gems...
Another 'funny' quote from a christian cleric.. shows how 'sectarian belief/religion' is combined as a mean to conquer other people, driven by 'greed'.
"When the missionaries came to Africa they had the Bible and we had the land. They said, "Let us close our eyes and pray." When we opened our eyes we had the Bible and they had the land."
-- Archbishop Desmond TutuSalam / Peace

Yes, I love that quote it is just so sad that it is true

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963), American president
I believe in an America where the separation of church and state is absolute-where no Catholic prelate would tell the president (should he be Catholic) how to act, and no Protestant minister would tell his parishoners for whom to vote-where no church or church school is granted any public funds or political preference-and where no man is denied public office merely because his religion differs from the president who might appoint him or the people who might elect him.

That is one of the best things in America, there can be no connection between any religion and the state. Anyone can belong to and practice any religion they want to

Indeed, it is a great statement. However, it belongs to Kenyatta (Kenya's founder), not Desmond Tutu. I too made the same mistake by attributing it to Desmond Tutu.

Yeah, I believe in free-dom of religion.
-
Great link Edip. It shows that throughout our history, many great minds used their own God given intellect above blind faith to see that Christ's true message was tampered with by scribes/paul/clerics etc whether they realized it or not. They knew something was inherently wrong with 'christian' dogma and canonized scriptures.

In America you can practice religion, or not practice religion. You can believe whatever religion you want, or you can not believe whatever religion you want. No one is forced to follow/not follow any religious beliefs.
I don't think there's anything & about that.

Yes.. and it's 100% aligned with Quranic commandment..
There are no compulsory in belief, as truth stands out clear from error..
(2256)Additional plus for USA on Quran-O-Meter..
The saudis government most certainly doesn't follow those Quran commandment, as they put their faith more on hearsays from 'mysterious figures' such as "Father Of The Cat" (Abu Hurayrah) to kill, ban and torture the heretics (Arabic Murtadeen).
Major minus for Saudi Arabia on Quran-O-MeterSalam / Peace

I never said anything about the USA being aligned with Quran at any percentage.
The whole point is, that religion, or lack of religion, should never be forced. In the USA it's not forced. -
So tell me Munzir... do you think religion should be forced for fear of hellfire?
