I never said anything about the USA being aligned with Quran at any percentage.
The whole point is, that religion, or lack of religion, should never be forced. In the USA it's not forced.

There are times where people / cultures in this region does thing which is actually aligned with the Quranic commandment / message on one or more aspect. Although they NEVER read the Quran.
And there are those who READ the Quran but their actions is not aligned to Quran Message.

Objectively I would say USA does aligns on some part to some degree to the Quranic message.
The Freedom of beliefs is one of them, (formally) abolishing slavery in 19th century is another one.

That's where the Quran-O-Meter came into play...
And there are no nations ever in this world throughout the history, including those who claimed to be "Islamic", that have really reached 100% on Quran-O-Meter.

            Salam / Peace

              & HELLFIRE. &

God doesn't care about your religion, religions are man made..
God will judge your 'action' on this world, and every little things that you do will got its reward, whatever good or bad that is..
a.k.a "You'll reap what you sow"..
In the eastern 'religion'/'culture' this thing is called as "Karmic Law".

Most of these quotes were not about Christianity exclusively. Most were about religions generally. I have to say, I agree with many of them.

Most of these quotes are influenced by Puritan thinking and some were Unitarians

I agree with you Jafar. No culture/country will follow God's law 100%. I don't feel it's even necessary. Especially since no human being knows 100% of God's law anyway. We would all be better off if we focused on kindness, charity, and humility instead of cramming our "fancies" down the throats of others.

I never said that we can force religion. On the contrary, I advocate freedom of religion. p

But I mean't to mean that if athiests go on increasing, it would be a problem for them. That's why I am scared. I'm scared of what might happen to them. &

You can read a short post by me of freedom of religion on my blog. All the quranic verses are translations of RK and Layth. Correct me if I'm wrong about statements made in my blog. angel peace

Guess I misunderstood, so thanks for explaining.

Isn't there something in the Quran about people leaving loved ones on the day of Judgement... even mother's leaving their baby? The point being that on the last day no one will care at all about anybody else... It will be each man/woman for themselves. I did a search and couldn't find it in the Quran, but I thought I remember seeing something like that. If anyone knows of this, please help me out. Thanks.

Quran(Koran) concerning judgement day and justice

36.65. That Day shall We set a seal on their mouths. But their hands will speak to us, and their feet bear witness, to all that they did.

101.6 Then, he whose balance will be heavy,

101.7. Will be in a life of good pleasure and satisfaction.

101.8. But he whose balance will be light,-

101.9. Will have his home in a (bottomless) Pit.

Also in chapter 99, the Koran tells us

99.6. On that Day will men proceed in companies sorted out, to be shown the deeds that they (had done).

99.7. Then shall anyone who has done an atom's weight of good, see it!

99.8. And anyone who has done an atom's weight of evil, shall see it.

                                  The Koran then tells us

17.13. Every man's fate We have fastened on his own neck On the Day of Judgment We shall bring out for him a scroll, which he will see spread open.

17.14."Read thine record Sufficient is thy soul this day to make out an account against thee."

And also tells us very clearly

18.49. And the Book will be placed, and thou wilt see the sinful in great terror because of what is therein; they will say, "Ah! woe to us! what a Book is this! It leaves out nothing small or great, but takes account thereof!" They will find all that they did, placed before them And not one will thy Lord treat with injustice.

                                  Also

75.13. That Day will Man be told that he put forward, and all that he put back

                                  Also

On that day man shall become aware of all the deeds, good and evil, he has committed through out his life" (7513).

                                  Also

We shall restore life to the dead, and We record both the deeds that occurred in the past and the effects to which they gave rise" (3612).

                                  Also

"Woe Upon us! What kind of a book is this that records and enumerates with precision all of our deeds, great and small?",They shall see all of their deeds, present before them, and God shall not wrong anyone (1849).

                                  Also

On the day that God raises up all men for the accounting to make them aware of the results of all the deeds He has recorded and they have forgotten; indeed God is a Witness to all creatures in the world" (586).

                                  Also

2.286. On no soul doth God Place a burden greater than it can bear. It gets every good that it earns, and it suffers every ill that it earns. (Pray "Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget or fall into error; our Lord! Lay not on us a burden Like that which Thou didst lay on those before us; Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Blot out our sins, and grant us forgiveness. Have mercy on us. Thou art our Protector; Help us against those who stand against faith."

                                  Also

6.164. Say "Shall I seek for (my) Cherisher other than God, when He is the Cherisher of all things? Every soul draws the meed of its acts on none but itself no bearer of burdens can bear of burdens can bear the burden of another. Your goal in the end is towards God. He will tell you the truth of the things wherein ye disputed.

2.281. And fear the Day when ye shall be brought back to God. Then shall every soul be paid what it earned, and none shall be dealt with unjustly.

                                  Also

80.33-42 At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- That Day shall a man flee from his own brother, And from his mother and his father, And from his wife and his children. Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern to make him indifferent to the others. Some faces that Day will be beaming, laughing, rejoicing. And other faces that Day will be dust-stained, Blackness will cover them Such will be the Rejecters of God, the doers of iniquity.

48.14. To God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth He forgives whom He wills, and He punishes whom He wills but God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

                                  Also sura 70

                                  1. The Day that the sky will be like molten brass,

                                  2. And the mountains will be like wool,

                                  3. And no friend will ask after a friend,

                                  4. Though they will be put in sight of each other,- the sinner's desire will be Would that he could redeem himself from the Penalty of that Day by (sacrificing) his children,

                                  5. His wife and his brother,

                                  6. His kindred who sheltered him,

                                  7. And all, all that is on earth,- so it could deliver him

                                  8. By no means! for it would be the Fire of Hell!-

May God protect us from His wrath! hail

I agree with you Jafar. No culture/country will follow God's law 100%. I don't feel it's even necessary. Especially since no human being knows 100% of God's law anyway. We would all be better off if we focused on kindness, charity, and humility instead of cramming our "fancies" down the throats of others.

                                    Exactly...
I would like to add "Justice" as well..
If a group of people is doing elektro or voodoo to other people, especially if it because he/she is considered as 'heretics' / 'murtad' / 'kuffar', then it is our obligation to stop those things and enforce justice.

                                    Salam / Peace
