Haiti earthquake

A very good question! And it certainly squashes the argument that some christian fundamentalists use that God is punishing the world for its wickedness. In that case it would be a big sin to be poor, instead of a big sin for the rich countries who have often exploited the poor.

Is it always the poor and miserable who suffer?
Just last year in my country many people had to deal with devastating fires. other people floods, others earth quakes etc
Everyone deals with ?natural? disasters it?s not a matter of poor or rich. notice how usually these things happen for a reason. i.e. hot weather so much vegetation surrounded in critical zones, plate tectonics, or whatever. Can they be prevented? God knows.. maybe some things could
Peace.

Peace,
How come it's always the poor and miserable who get earthquakes, Tsunamis, etc? haven't they suffered enough?
Just a question.Peace,
Hadi
Don't forget the hurricane I lived through here in 2008. It is not just the poor, it is just that poorer countries are less able to deal with it. A country like Haiti does not have any building codes so most of their buildings will collapse much easier than in most other countries.
