    Translation one

    And stay quietly in your houses, and make not a dazzling display, like that of the former Times of Ignorance; and establish regular Prayer, and give regular Charity; and obey Allah and His Messenger. And Allah only wishes to remove all abomination from you, ye Members of the Family(O Folk of the Household;O members of the family (of the Prophet SAW), and to make you pure and spotless.

    Translation two

    "You shall settle down in your homes, and do not mingle with the people excessively, like you used to do in the old days of ignorance. You shall observe the Contact Prayers (Salat), and give the obligatory charity (Zakat), and obey GOD and His messenger. GOD wishes to remove all unholiness from you, O you who live around the Sacred Shrine, and to purify you completely."

    Translation three

    "And stay quietly in your houses, and make not a dazzling display, like that of the former Times of Ignorance; and establish regular Prayer, and give regular Charity; and obey Allah and His Messenger. And Allah only wishes to remove all abomination from you of the people of the system, and to make you pure and spotless."

    Chapter 19 - CONFUSION OVER THE AHLUL BAYT

    The author writes

    1-Firstly Bayt in the Quran does NOT mean a house. Bayt means a system. The word for house in the Quran (believe it or not ? is buyut ? singular). Contrary to orthodox intrepretation buyut is NOT plural of bayt.

    In 396 the word used here is BAYT for "temple" . So there is a little discrepancy that I don't understand.

    2-The Prophet?s wives were previously of the ahlul bayt or the system of the jahiliyah???. Now GOD wants to purify them and get them OUT of that ahlul bayt.

    System = bayt ?

    brickwall In 3333 is there a "construct phrase" or "idaafa" or "annexation structure" ?

        Salam ,Peace,

        I recommend you to try the search tool in FM.

        I don't think beit has one and only meaning.

        Regards

            peace jawad, all,

            AQ = Al Quran

            The expression you refer to is used several times in AQ, see here for example
            http//www.al-islam.org/encyclopedia/chapter1a/11.html

            After reading the above, also see http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahl_al-Bayt

            All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.
