Doesn't AQ tell us that Fir`aun/Pharaoh "repented" in the sight of his own death?
I think Sarah talks about those who repent in the "middle" of their life, i.e. those who are still given the chance to live for some times. Disbelievers, hypocrites, sinners, fornicators or whatever--once they honestly, thoroughly repented and fixed their ways, they will be with the believers.

are we going to ask someone we are about to date with "hey, i'm sorry but i need to know if you're a virgin. have you ever had sex?" ? you can't ask this kind of stuff maybe after the relationship matures but then what? you're going to dump your loved one (maybe after years of dating) if he / she has had sex? i don't know but if i love too much i can ignore her past and let God be the judge for what she did. but of course everyone likes to be "the first one" to do it.

They don't need to be virgins? as long as they believe and and are willing to abide by the concepts of the quran-surely!
but on the other hand if one chooses a practicing wh-re then it is more likely she does it because she wants it or enjoys it so more likely to carry on with the practice after marriage, who would want that?
So judge before committing rather then crying afterwards.

Strange question!!
The other one believes in sex without marriage.
well i have seen some people who think it's okay?! confused
http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=9599777.0
but as the quran is depicting above it isn't okay for believers.

The question is redundant since the other party believes only in sex without marriage.
How?
The quran is depicting that a believer should not marry a fornicator unless of course they give in and become believers thus stop fornicating.
As long as they believe that sex without marriage is okay then they are fornicating and we are frobidden to marry them.
If you marry one with such a belief then they may be adulterous- which is also forbidden.

The question is patently redundant since marriage is something mutual. It needs two persons. One person does not believe in sex through marriage, how can you marry him or her, or think of such superfluous proposal? He/she would in turn demand sex without entering into marriage.

Marriage has a lot more then just sex, sex is only a small part of the married life-i think.
Firstly we arn't supposed to marry one who doesn't believe that sex is only for the married.
If we do marry such a person un-knowingly then he/she may be having it here there and everywhere, wherease you will not be -that is what i meant.peace

of course, one of your interpretations. i respect that. moot point anyway since you've said it yourself

IMO, marriage is just a way of socially (and religiously) honoring two people who are starting a family.
Say, we have a believer who just decided to live with a someone who believes in sex without marriage, and then they have sex, have kids, have a loving family, live a good life, being very good people and kind to everyone all they way until they die, without ever asking God for forgiveness. (Alright, it's idealistic, but it's possible.)
Would they be "totally wrong" in the sight of God?
I think you have the answer.
And to answer the OP's question, I would say "yes", but with reservations.

Look at both sides of the coin, shall we!
Say, we have a believer who just decided to live with a someone who believes in sex without marriage, and then they have sex, have a kid but then the man does a runner, she is screwed.
Was she okay in the head when she let him go all the way without thinking of the responsibilities of the kid/s.
laugh
Now you have the answers, right?
The women need the men to sign on the dotted line, in case the men decide to take off , then the law will protect the women's rights and make the men support them finencialy and otherwise.

The women need the men to sign on the dotted line, in case the men decide to take off , then the law will protect the women's rights and make the men support them finencialy and otherwise.
But that happens to women who are married too. I know quite a number of women in "Islamic" countries whose ex-husbands don't pay a penny for their mutual kids, not to mention alimony.
In many European countries, on the other hand, a man is obliged to pay for his offspring, whether he has been married to the mother or not. That's the way it should be imho.
-
But is Islamic countries, the man takes the child/children, therefore no need to pay maintenance after the prescribed period as he is providing for the children because they are with him? Or at least that is the way it is meant to be.
2233 And the mothers may nurse their children for two whole years, if they wish to complete the period of nursing; and it is incumbent upon him who has begotten the child to provide in a fair manner for their sustenance and clothing. No human being shall be burdened with more than he is well able to bear neither shall a mother be made to suffer because of her child, nor, because of his child, he who has begotten it. And the same duty rests upon the heir. And if both decide, by mutual consent and counsel, upon separation , they will incur no sin ; and if you decide to entrust your children to foster-mothers, you will incur no sin provided you ensure, in a fair manner, the safety of the child which you are handing over. But remain conscious of God, and know that God sees all that you do.
656 let the women live in the same manner as you live yourselves, In accordance with your means; and do not harass them with a view to making their lives a misery. And if they happen to be with child, spend freely on them until they deliver their burden; and if they nurse your offspring , give them their recompense; and take counsel with one another in a fair manner . And if both of you find it difficult , let another woman nurse it on behalf of him .

In which Islamic countries? The jurisdiction varies from country to country.
What do you mean by "this is the way it's meant to be"? That children should automatically go to the father after a divorce? Why?
-
My father in law left his wife and 5 kids to go off and marry another woman. He provided NOTHING for them and has not even SEEN those kids in the last 20+ years the wife has struggled to keep them alive! This is a Muslim man in a muslim country. he didnt even bother to divorce her until he was forced to and thats the only way she could get some support from the government.
