Salaam, I guess tattoos for me are like photographs, memories of the past good & bad that will stay with me until I die. This is perhaps the reason why so many people get them. I already had lots pre-reversion & have always been really into them. My Islamic tattoos to me are showing my devotion to God weather or not anyone agrees with that or thinks it is wrong to show devotion in such a way. Either way what's done is done & I'll have to live with them as permanent scars, & display my sins. I don't really agree with some of the comments made that they are dirty. They're just ink under the skin & have never caused any infection which usually happens just after they've been done if the tattooist &/or his/her equipment are unclean.
Well anyway thanks for the comments.
    Peace )

Yeah, I'm at that tattoo stage. Where I want to get a tattoo for the simple reason of wanting a tattoo. I would never get a name. I'd never get something which symbolises my affliations at a particular time. I'd never get something purely for cute factor e.g. http//nbnl.globalwhelming.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/android-tattoo.jpg, never get anything in typeface or (solely) for aesthetics. It had to be something that seriously meant something to me and I don't really think that there IS anything worthy of branding your body with, even though I'd love to one day find something that meant enough.

For now though, I want a tattoo but I'm not going to make a hasty decision for something I'll probably hate the next day, knowing me.

Nothing against those people who find that special thing, but PLEASE, NO cherries (I don't care if they're dripping, it's not cool), NO Squids (WTH) and NO Hello Kitty (self-explanatory).

I wanted to get Peace in Arabic and/or Hebrew or simply the word 'live' in english. I also wanted a full sleve at one point, and I wanted some weird stuff on my feet. lol

I can't condone tattoos, and I'm not sure that they are haram or not, but almost immediately after i found out that the quran was the word of God, I took my Reformists Translation with me to a tattoo parlor and got my tattoo on the ankle

Whaaat? I didn't worship Imam Ali, I just thought his sword looked cool and it would be a nice gesture to my faith (former faith).

I doubted sunnism a lot. I was afraid at first, but then, I thought of questioning as a positive thing.

Do you know guys why tattoos is Haram ?

the answer is so simple >>>> because the body not belong to you in other words it is not yours to play with it.

who said that there is no things talk in Quran about the change of the person's look. you know that making any different in your body is a satan's work and it's a satan's order to human( from plastic and and and ..>to surgery to tattoos).

                              (( (116) 117 (11 (119 ) (120) (121) ))

"I will mislead them, and I will create in them false desires; I will order them to slit the ears of cattle, and to deface the (fair) nature created by Allah." Whoever, forsaking Allah, takes Satan for a friend, hath of a surety suffered a loss that is manifest.
Satan makes them promises, and creates in them false desires; but Satan's promises are nothing but deception.
They (his dupes) will have their dwelling in Hell, and from it they will find no way of escape.
But those who believe and do deeds of righteousness, We shall soon admit them to Gardens - with rivers flowing beneath - to dwell therein forever. Allah's promise is the truth, and whose word can be truer than Allah's?

so what about circumcision, male AND female?

the prophet said " ". which means that the circumcision was before a normal thing for a female and for a male.

this circumcision was at the time of Abaraham peace be upon him, and he was circumised at his 8s(The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said "The Prophet Ibrahim circumcised himself when he was eighty years old and he circumcised himself with an axe)>>(Related by Bukhari, Muslim & Ahmad.) . and that's why God said ""Then We inspired you 'Follow the religion of Ibrahim, the upright in Faith'."
                                  (Qur'an 16123)

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Five are the acts quite akin to fitrahCircumcision, clipping or shaving the pubes, cutting the nails, plucking or shaving the hair under the armpits and clipping (or shaving) the moustache." (Reported in Bukhari & Muslim) .

take a look about what doctors say about circumcision, you'll be surprised.

P.S it is not from changing things in you .

If you insist on derailing and muddying existing/new threads in unrelated sections with responses not from the quran, it won't go well. There is the Sunni/Shia Religion section and the Hadith Discussions section for your everyday needs otherwise. Thanks.

I fully understand the covenant between God and Abraham and circumcising BOYS, but there is NOTHING about girls. It is NOT islamic it is an outdated barbaric AFRICAN practice and of his 4 daughters the prophet had NONE of them mutilated, so no its NOT halal in Islam! female mutilation is NOT good for health either, where have you been reading to get that information? I suggest you google that one and get some real information regarding the verses in Quran and cutting bits off God's PERFECT creation when He didnt ask you to!

I've gave her example from Quran but she asked about something not existing in Quran but it exists in hadith, so there is no point of ears pulling.

ok I'll not use hadith next time.

P.S we're not discussing any hadith, it's just she want a justification and I gave her one, wonder if it was this justification from a book of philosophy, I bet you'll not drop yourself here.
