When I first got together with my Husband he was already a submitter but I was not, I was on the guidance of god but not as a submitter, I still attended my baptist church in new orleans but all there Jesus crap rubbed me the wrong way. I read and re read the psalms and proverbs and stayed pretty much in those books only. When I moved to another state to be with my husband(boyfriend at the time or whatever) he introduced to me www.submission.org and www.quran-islam.org and the Quran. I took my time reading Yusuf Ali's version and it touched my heart. I read the progressive muslims version of the Quran " The message" and again it touched my heart to be true. When I was going through a hard time and my husband I were going to split up due to him going through a spiritual Jihad with satan. He left for about a month and lived alone. In that time I re read the Quran in that month and started making my 3 daily salat, installed the adhan on the computer more out of a alarm clock neccesity but the Fajr salat really got to me. I said my shahaddah and was about to move on in my life without my now husband when wherever he was at it was not working out and he came back home. Within the First week of being back together he came back to his spirituallity and by Gods grace we were given a Quiblah and some Qurans and other islamical things by the people we were going to go buy a dresser from at like a yard sale. I became a SUBMITTER wife when I realized how the Quran was true, how the Quran was all I needed, not hadiths or the bible or anything else. I made my Shahaddah and I realized that GOD is real and that He is the only one I needed in my life. I became a wife to a wonder man who shares my same beliefs and values and religion. I came to be a submitter wife by GOD and His wonderful Guidance via the Quran.

    welcome

            Hi SW,

You can check out many other translations at http//www.al-quran.info .. Comparing translations, gives a basic idea of how Quran differs in understanding by various translators.

            Maybe you can realize that;
It's enough to be a humanbeing to read and guide yourself with Quran.
All of religions are human-made fractions..
Rituals like salat, hajj etc. are based on false explanation of ayats. (You may interest topics in "Salat & Zakat" forum)

            Yours sincerely..

Great story but please remember that the process of learning and self-developing never stops. Also be prepared to readjust your belief system as more you uncover more truth during your pursuit of knowledge.

Thank You everyone for the warm welcomes and YES only GOD CAN JUDGE US!! I have indeed learned and studied and my beliefs have been re arranged and changed with my studying, my findings to fit with what I found to be Quranically correct and what I believe in, alone with GOD's Guidance. No I do not belive in hadiths nor do I practice, study or read them. I stick to the Quran and GOD alone and even within this process I have found false teachings that I have been corrected in even from submission. org and reading various translations of the Quran and articles here and on quran-islam.org and it is like you have said its a never ending journey and GOD guides whom He chooses to guide.

what ? why you don't believe in hadiths ? did you know that the hadiths is prophet's words ? ah I think you'll never know how to pray without the deeds of the prophet which are mentioned in hadiths . Plus the hadiths devide into two sections the first is the hadiths sharif which are the saying of the prophet , the second is the hadith Al-Qudssi which are the saying of allah through the prophet Muhammed peace be upon him .
" " here in this verse Allah ordred the nation or the community of Islam to obey what the prophet said and did.

" " and this saying from the prophet conclude that the prophet peace be upon him has left what if people hold it, they will never lose the path "the right path" , and he has left two things , the Qur'an and the sunna "the hadiths and the deeds". so think again about what you said that you don't believe in hadith.

Muhammed warned and preached against people making hadiths after his sayings and the sunnah f teh prophet honestly had to adhere to the quran and quran alone or he would not have been the chosen final prophet of GOD. Bukhari hadith are really old wives tales from his mom which was 200 or more years after muhammed died so after 200 years things would get distorted.

well I think you have to learn again what you have learned.

how do you know that hadiths have been distorted ? you have just been a Muslim, and yet you're rejecting what the prophet said .

we take the hadiths from the most correct books in Islam is Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Moslim, so if you tried to say that the bokhari book has been distorted, well think again because there is another book called Sahih Muslim, and the both of the book sharing the same ahadith. Let me remind you that both of them have did a great efforts to gather the hadiths and register it and studying the Sanad, that's what you don't know.

The hadiths where writen after the prophets death, so the hadiths where not writen under the guidance and the control of the prophet as the Qur'an was so you can justify their autenticity..
Of course we should obey the messenger and what he said, the Qur'an was revelated thru his mouth, when Moses came to the jews the jews needed to obey him, we need to obey all the prophets...so do you think Allah sent a book a incomplete...

well, this shows how your knowldge of what prophet or Qur'an said is superficial for two reasons that you don't know why prophet said ""Do not write anything from me; whoever has written anything from me other than the Qur'aan, let him erase it and narrate from me, for there is nothing wrong with that." (Narrated by Muslim, al-Zuhd wa'l-Raqaa'iq, 5326)

" and the second you're not aware of the meanings of this quote .

first of all the hadiths talks about a period when the prophet peace be upon him still taking words from God and at the same time he must shows some of his interpretations and some of his deeds, so for avoiding mixing the hadiths between the words of Qur'an , he ordered the people or his friends to not write his sayings.

basically the hadiths is completing what came in Qur'an, it's a metaphore of that the hadiths has been showed some mystery in some cases in Qur'an ..
the problem for you is you don't know the words in arabic and it's meanings .

                                  Peace

so for avoiding mixing the hadiths between the words of Qur'an , he ordered the people or his friends to not write his sayings.

If, as you say, the people could write why could they not write the quran and the ahadeeth? Could they not do so because they could not distinguish the words of the rasool from those of the quran? But I don't think that would make sense because you said in order to avoid mixing they should avoid the writing of ahadeeth which means they could distinguish between the two. So if they could distinguish between the two why would the writing of his sayings be forbidden? Did these people not know how to seperate one thing from another in their writings?

The Qur'an was written after the prophet's death

The writer of the quran disagrees with you .

hadiths is completing what came in Qur'an

Does the quran talk about it being incomplete?

BTW, Arabic is not the end all be all toward understanding the quran.

                                  Joe

First at all chill out and respect others opinions...
From what i know the when the prophet Muhammed had a revelation, it was written...so how can you say that the Qur'an was written after the prophet Muhammeds death?
I wanna ask you, the hadiths where written by prophets that you say it's something authentic? When the hadiths started to be writed? So God sent two books?
                                    Take it easy...

I'm respecting your opinion, my reply to you is a respect to your opinion if it's not I'll not bother myself replying to your post.

Yes, typically the Qur'an has been written in the age of the prophet after his death but not as you think, it wasn't classified and everyone wrote a piece of a piece and there were many writers according to the place where the prophet was . So the Qur'an has been Classified and written in a good way in the age of khilafat Abu Baker Assadik . I think you should look fr the story .

God just send one is the Qur'an, but there are other things "hadiths Al-Qodssi" or in other word the God's words to the people and they are separated from Qur'an. Qur'an contains verses "Ayattes" while the hadiths contains quotes from God through his prophet and also contains the saying and the deeds of the prophet.

So why would we need another books, when God said that the Qur'an it's a perfect and a complet book, a book for our salvation...Why?
The hadiths where writted by simple people...wich could have mistake or write whatevere they want, you you tell me a story after 10 years you will tell it to me as you said it today?I'm doubt...the hadiths are so wrong...

                                        Peace

If, as you say, the people could write why could they not write the quran and the ahadeeth? Could they not do so because they could not distinguish the words of the rasool from those of the quran? But I don't think that would make sense because you said in order to avoid mixing they should avoid the writing of ahadeeth which means they could distinguish between the two. So if they could distinguish between the two why would the writing of his sayings be forbidden? Did these people not know how to seperate one thing from another in their writings?

                                        well, let me explain
the writers know the different between what prophet said and what God said, the problem is for the people who they can't differ between the words of the prophet and between the words of God, so to avoid the listeners or the other writers other than the friends of the prophet, he ordered them to not write his sayings.
I know people mixing between what prophet said and what God said today , so how about before ?
the prophet banned writing his sayings because they were in the same time of inspiration from God, when the prophet read the verse, he explained the meanings of it, and that time people write evrything the prophet said, so to avoid mixing both of them ho oredered to not write his sayings.

The writer of the quran disagrees with you .

                                        I've said typically.

Does the quran talk about it being incomplete?

BTW, Arabic is not the end all be all toward understanding the quran.

without the interpretations and the sayings of the prophet, you'll not understand the Qur'an .

well, Arabic is the language of Quran, so untill reading it by arabic, you'll understand.

Yes, I'm aware of this, but the compilation required to write it again and let the original compilation the source. Abu Baker Asadik may God be pleased with him has gathered the good keepers of Qur'an "who they saved Qur'an very well in their hearts", I think they were 70 savers and he gathered them and there were writers to write what the savers said and then he compare the soware who they were written in the age of the prophet after his death with what written from the keepers of Qur'an and he found them correct.so the compilation was the source but the Qur'an has written again in other papers to spread them and Abu Baker Asadik inherted the source.

You need another book because this another book explain some issues were as a mystery in Qur'an like the way that prophet peace be upon him prayed.

As I said before "completing is not the right word in english" because when I said is completing what came in Qur'an is that he defines some difficult issues in Qur'an and it explained it.

who said that the hadith was not written in the age of the existence of the prophet ?
                                          ( ) ( .. ) .

to conclude this quote that one of the companion of the prophet wrote what the prophet said and Qur'aich stopped him from doing that, and he went to ask the prophet, and when he asked him, the prophet said to him write..and then he swore by God that he said just the truth.
